Introduction to BLYM Any% Glitched! (Current as of 6/16/2019)
Updated 4 years ago by Kirbz

First, before learning the category, I must explain how the game works.

BLYM is a very old Flash game. In its outdated software, it tracks BLYM's position via screen coordinates, a programming technique that was abandoned over time. This can be taken advantage of to perform a trick called RSG, or Resize Glitch (Discovered by NoComment), where we resize the screen to make BLYM move irregularly. Next up are the stats for Google Chrome (The best browser for this).

---Glitches---

Note: All tricks noted here are described in detail under Tech.

Another Note: All tricks shown here are only shown to work on a standard sized desktop monitor. They aren't picky; all tricks will work on most monitor sizes (this has been tested). Sadly, however, they do not work the same on laptops or any other portable device with a small screen. This is likely due to where coordinates are, but we're not yet sure.

At 100%: There is a rare glitch in level 32 that is useless in a run, but still noticable.

At 90%: No differences from 100%, other than that the glitch in level 32 does not exist.

At 80%: Walljumps are possible. Corner clips are also possible, but not extended corner clips. Nothing else irregular.

At 75%: Corner clips and extended corner clips are possible. Nothing else irregular.

At 67%: Very few tricks are known for this resize, however BLYM will walk exessively slowly at some times due to an unknown confusion. Any tricks known for this are possible at other resizes, so this size aren't investigated or used.

At 50%: Wall clips are possible. This is the most critical size to have, as it saves a TON of time in worlds 2, 3, and 4. Zips will also occur, with holding left making BLYM zip right infinitely, and holding right making BLYM zip to the end of the nearest block.

At 33%: Similar to 67% but without the strange ground movement.

At 25%: Ceiling clips can be done. Zips can also be done, along with many strange clips that are not yet understood.

---Tech---

There are many tricks performable in BLYM, and the list below orders them from most to least used (Exceptions are branches - extensions of other tricks. These are listed under the trick from which they originated). A video is available which shows each of these glitches (I apologize in advance; I'm terrible at making videos). I will include timestamps for each trick in the description.

Corner Clips: Available at 75% and 80%, corner clips allow you to clip into an adjacent block and be pushed above it, but only if there is a block above the side which BLYM is standing. This trick is used at many points in the run. In addition, there are two extensions: one exclusive to each of 75% and 80%. To perform a corner clip, you must move away from the adjacent block and jump into the block above BLYM at the same time. If done correctly, you should be above the adjacent block.

Extended Corner Clips (Corner Clip Extension): Available at 75%, extended corner clips allow you to perform a corner clip across more than one block's distance. To perform this, just hold both the jump and directional key until you appear above a block.

80% Wall Clips (Corner Clip Extension): While it doesn't appear like a corner clip, 80% wall clips occur when a corner clip is executed while touching the adjacent block. When done correctly, BLYM should warp under the adjacent block and then across to the other side of it.

Walljumps: Available at 50% and 80%, walljumps allow you to clip into a wall and then jump from it to a higher spot, and are the most difficult known trick to pull off in BLYM. To perform this, jump into any wall at any point. Then, you must move out of the wall and jump on the frame after you begin moving (BLYM runs at 30fps, so 1/30th of a second after). While running Glitched categories, you will find that 80% is more convenient for this trick.

Wall Clips: Available at 50% and 25%, wall clips allow you to zip from one side of a wall to the other. These are as simple as holding the direction opposite the wall.

Spike Wall Clips (Wall Clip Extension): Available at 50%, spike wall clips involve landing a block into a static deadly object next to a wall and then holding the direction away from the wall. When the block breaks, BLYM will wall clip across the wall.

Ceiling Clips: Available at 25%, ceiling clips simply consist of jumping into a ceiling. When done, this will cause BLYM to teleport above the ceiling you jumped into.

---Closing---

All other tricks can be found in the Any% Glitched Guide, as they are less signifincant and all are extremely specific extentions of the tricks above. I hope this helped you!
