Here's my route for predicting Mastermind Pattern. With this strategy you can solve the puzzle in 3 or less tries, with an easy first guess.

Here's the 10 patterns:

1. Cyan / Purple / Green / Pink
2. Blue / Cyan / Pink / Purple
3. Purple / Red / Cyan / Yellow
4. Pink / Red / Blue / Orange
5. Purple / Yellow / Orange / Red
6. Orange / Pink / Blue / Green
7. Red / Orange / Purple / Yellow
8. Yellow / Green / Orange / Cyan
9. Green / Blue / Red / Cyan
10. Red / Green / Yellow / Cyan

Here's the best solution for the minimum amount of guesses you need in order to figure out the pattern, and the answer is 2.3 guesses: 70% of the time you can find the solution in 2 guesses, 30% of the time in 3 guesses.

Top secret note: you can actually spy the first and last colors in both PC and PS1 versions and answer correctly first try with 100% accuracy. Yes, the answer is already printed.
