I'm going through the game and trying to optimize each battle. I'll post my best ideas here for now.
Day 1:
Day 6:
Day 7:
Day 17:
Day 28:
Day 29:
Final battle:
here are some strats for the battles on day 28 and 29. both are affected by randomness, especially the day 29 battle. both of these strats have no upgrades, and assume takumi deals the finishing blow at every opportunity.
day 28:
day 29:
Oh dang I recorded my strats for day 28 and 29 before seeing your post. It looks like your day 28 wave 1 is just a couple seconds slower, maybe there's some hybrid strat that's faster? And my Addamaque strat is not 100% consistent (sometimes you can't clear all the invaders around him), is yours 100% consistent?
Edit: OK, I combined our strats and found a positioning for Kyoshika in wave 2 that seems 100% consistent.
Very minor but it would be nice if there was a way to arrange things in wave 1 to skip the no more AP popup.
My original: 1:05+1:04
Yours: 1:08+1:10
New: 0:57+1:05 (but I messed up a little, got a 1:03 in practice before)
damn your day 29 strat is way better than mine. i modified your wave 2, and it should be a little faster
also, here's a strat for the day 44 battle. i tried many variations, and it's possible if not likely that there's a better way to do waves 1 and 2, but i just said fuck it and went with something that worked. you can do wave 4 without continually hitting the orange guy and save a few seconds, but i don't feel like recording this again
Nice improvements on day 29. I made some improvements to your day 44, biggest things are using Gaku for wave 3 and 1-turning wave 4. I did use Jury, though. Without jury you can Judge the tubrilla twice, defensive stance, then use Eito's special and clean up with Darumi.
Day 55. I used Jury again, this is the fight that makes it worth getting Jury I think. Not sure what the strat would be without it, 1 turn wave 3 might not be possible without any upgrades. Also sacrificial viper saves 3 seconds at the end of wave 1, worth keeping in mind to see if it saves time anywhere else.
Day 65: used impact stab, it saves 2 attacks or 6 seconds over just side slash.
i got a turn 1 wave 3 without jury for day 55, but it is requires a significantly slower wave 1, so i think it is worth it to get jury. getting impact stab and potentially a few other upgrades while you're there is probably also good. day 65 is very random in wave 1, and immediately ending the turn does not guarantee that nozomi will die. you can dash her in a general area in front of the fake moko first, and in my testing she died every time.
i also went back to day 44 and found a turn 1 wave 3 that should be faster:
wave 2 needs to be slightly different, but i don't think it's much slower.
Dang, nozomi always died in my testing, but maybe that's because I was just reloading a save? Is the enemies' starting position random?
Very nice 1-turn there. It might actually be better to cut out the agility potion from wave 4 instead of wave 2 since you can use a hemoanima attack boost instead on wave 4.
Edit: never mind, we don't have enough voltage for that. best I can find for wave 2 after starting the same with Takemaru is 3 side slashes, def stance, 1 more side slash, which is only 2 seconds slower.
Day 72:
For wave 1 if Eito gets armor he doesn't get low health so I think it's fastest to retry lol.
Old day 72:
Old notes:
So many options for wave 2, I think I found something pretty good. But it's hard to say if Shouma is worth using at all. Worth noting you can use jury to hit 2 UFOs that are spaced 7 spaces apart but that didn't make it into the final strat.
After recording I realized it's probably faster to use kyoshika to finish wave 3, oops.
edit: posted this before i saw yours lol
i came up with a backup wave 1, which you can use if you get armor. i also came up with a different strat in wave 2, where i lured as many enemies to the bus as possible, then killed them with righteous punishment and last resort crimson assault. i'm not sure i found the best way to kill the upper enemies though.
i skipped ahead to day 86. this one isn't too interesting, but it is worth noting that a desperation potion could be faster (but not enough to be worth getting the potion on its own)
Here's the main part of day 79, I'm pretty happy with this. There's a bit of Eito RNG as usual but there's an extra attack potion so you can just give him one if he doesn't get an attack boost.
here's day 87. i didn't kill every enemy in wave 2, and i instead let them self destruct. i also used takemaru's "eat this", which would have to be unlocked alongside jury, impact stab, and sacrificial viper.
It looks like the enemy formation in wave 2 is a little random, you can't kill all of this formation with killing boost
EDIT: It appears it's not random - it's actually a difference between the PC and switch versions somehow. On PC the formation is below, and on switch it's in ShadowFax's video above. Anyone have any idea why this would be different?
If you get this though you can just Judge + Deadlights and leave 3 darumarr. Not spending voltage also means you can save a bit of time in wave 3 by using 3 paralyze bullets instead of 4 impact stabs.
Also a little note, if Eito doesn't get an attack boost on his first two hits on the noise machine, finish with jury.
Looks like spring trap about 1 minute on V'ehxness. Any ideas to improve the no-spring trap fight?
here's my attempt at wave 2 without a spring trap. it requires 100 voltage, 1 attack potion, 2 agility potions, and 1 defense potion (i used 2 defense potions because i didn't have 100 voltage)
Hey that's pretty good. If you have at least 168% voltage you can simplify it like this:
Only 1 agility potion. Also only 20 seconds slower than the spring trap strat. So we have to look closely at other spring trap timesaves to see if it's worth. Also still need to see if it costs any time to get this much voltage.
And here's a version that requires 250% voltage but no agility or defense potions. As far as I can tell it's totally reasonable to have this much voltage.
Here's the full battle:
I'm looking to see if a desperation potion is worth it now, found a 30s faster strat for Eito with one, but maybe 2-turn is possible without one?
Desperation potion also saves around 16s (it's random) on day 65 wave 1 since you can 1 turn it, and 17s on day 94 1st battle (against the rocket) again since you can 1 turn it. You're only 1 damage away from 1 turn on the rocket battle though, so maybe I'm missing something there.
Edit: Looks like it saves about 13s on day 86 waves 2 and 3 combined too. Use it on yugamu and 1-turn wave 2, on wave 3 do twilight atrocity again and use an agility potion on takumi, skipping the side slash and rescue bullet.
alright i spent way too long on this. i tried to find something without a desperation potion, but everything was 20-30 seconds slower. it should be faster overall to get a desperation potion, so i looked at the desperation potion strat for eito. there are two possibilities for the eito battle on turn 2, and in one of them eito get armor. this results in not dealing enough damage to kill him. i tried so many things in turn 2 to get around this, and i couldn't find anything that wasn't significantly slower. i ended up using a metal fence on turn 1, and it miraculously solved the issue. i haven't confirmed that it's 100% consistent though.
