Controls

Slime Voyage's current demo utilizes two locations for movement input: 1) the ASD and jump keys; and 2) the arrow keys. A and left arrow control left, D and right arrow control right, jump and up arrow control jump, and S and down arrow control detach/crouch.

These two input areas are vital to performing the two currently known tech: The JonaJump (JJ), and the extra-large jump (XL).

JonaJump (JJ)

The JonaJump was first discovered on 10 October 2024, version 0.71, when Jona (aka pro_cat_better) uploaded a video of himself jumping onto a wall, then detaching but going straight upwards instead of going the opposite direction of the wall. Further attempts to replicate it found a similar, but functionally distinct, strategy involving the usage of and alternation between both inputs for jumping.

It can only be done while stationary.

  1. Be on the ground and perpendicular to a wall (e.g. jumping onto it and then detaching; sliding off will make Slime not perpendicular)
  2. Jump using one input.
  3. At the maximum height of Slime's jump, use and hold the other input.
  4. Chain as much as you need or desire, alternating between jump inputs as you do it.

XL Jump (XL)

The extra-large jump (or XL, formerly the Floaty XL) was first recorded on 12 October 2024 by Zupa (Kulazupa) when practicing the JonaJump.

It can be done while mobile or while stationary. It can be done upon touching the ground anywhere, and can be repeated, but cannot be chained like the JonaJump.

  1. Be anywhere on the ground.
  2. Jump using one jump input.
  3. Right as you hit the ground, jump using one jump input and then use the other jump input within a few frames of the first input.

The XL jump can also be used when against a wall to chain into a JonaJump, but it is not yet known where it could save time.

Starting teleport glitch

The starting teleport glitch was first found on 24 January 2025 by Jona. It's done simply by pressing and/or holding R (the reset button) as one's first input when starting in speedrun mode. It bypasses the beginning crate jump and could theoretically save time. However, it was banned due to it not triggering the in-game timer and thus necessitating an external timer.
