Some Categories are optimally run on downpatched versions.

Currently, any category including the platforming gauntlet in "Beyond the Realm" is optimally run on version 1.2.

To download v1.2, enter the following command into your steam console:

Replace the game files in the steam folder with the downloaded directory and disable auto-updates.
