True, but it still showed the power of extensive ocean travel, even before he found what he needed. It wasn’t a typical classic run in any sense of the word.
If this isn’t crazy enough, if it was pure pirate strats (meaning that he got a bunch of shipwrecks and a monument in that ocean), it could have been faster by almost 5 minutes. Ridiculous if you ask me. I believe pirate strats are the way to go for 1.14.4 WR runs in the future.
@haha_h_pawn_go_brmmm yes you can, as long as you don't change the difficulty to Peaceful. The final difficulty setting when you submit the run is the lowest difficulty you set it to at any point in the run.
@Trentthekid642 they can but not all of them are good ideas, or sufficiently optimisable to make the cut. that's not how category extensions work, otherwise you'd have people fucking beating minecraft with their fist and calling it a catext speedrun

The 1.14 WR has just been beaten again, just half a week after DoyPingu’s WR - this time by Dimeax with 19:30 IGT, making him the first runner to sub20 in 1.14.4 (assuming his run is verified, which it should be - he live-streamed it, and in fact is still on that same stream as I type.
Just me or anyone else think classic strats is dead and buried?
Then don’t. I have a potato computer as well, so I only do 1.14 runs. When I want to run 1.16, I just do it for fun and not competitively.
Because there is no reliable way of obtaining that many emeralds easily and fast in pre-1.9.
1.4 and 1.3 are classed under the same category as 1.7.2, which is the most-run version in pre-1.9. So there isn’t really any point going for a 1.3 or 1.4 run, it’s just 1.7.2 but more trouble.
As anyone keeping up with the 1.14.4 meta should know, ocean strats have become pretty popular for 1.14 lately, especially after Doy got WR with it.
Which brings me to the question, does anyone have a list of tourney-style seeds good for practicing ocean strats? It can be any method of ocean strat 1.14, whether hostage, far village, early nether entry, or whatever. I just need practice.

No. You can submit a run without audio. Korbanoes did this for his 1.14 WR, because he was listening to copyright music.
I recommend that you fix the problem, though. It makes your run less sus, to say nothing of the fact that sounds clearly will help your gameplay.
