IL support on this site is not great. While this doesn't matter for most games, there are still many communities out there that are very heavily focused on IL competition.
For as long as I can remember being on this site, people have been asking for quality of life improvements to the way ILs are handled, and for as long as I can remember being on this site, nothing has changed (See [1]). There is a reason that the communities of newer IL based games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe haven't moved to this site yet (MK8DX is over at https://www.mkleaderboards.com/mk8dx ). This is not a dig at ELOs lack of community interaction (although it is quite ridiculous, so much for "listening to the community"...), because this was a problem under @Pac aswell.
As a runner of various heavily IL based games, there are numerous features and changes that I find incredibly important for IL based competition. I am making this post in the hopes that if you folks at ELO actually read this forum, you can consider adding some of these features.
This is a massive problem, but instead of explaining this, I will instead ask you to view link [2] below as I think it explains it quite well.
Using CELESTE Classic as an example, the category "Gemskip Any%" only applies to the last few levels, and "Gemskip 100%" applies to even less. (**EDIT: ** See link [3]), but it makes absolutely no sense to force the two categories to apply to all levels, when at most they apply to the final handful. The same applies to variables.
This might feel a little bit odd to fullgame speedrunners, but this is massive in the majority of large IL based speedrunning communities, such as GoldenEye, Mario Kart, FZero, Crash Team Racing, etc. To summarize how it works, along side the IL leaderboards, there is an additional leaderboard ranking players based on their overall performance. This is typically done through something such as AF (average finish), where a players average placement is used to rank them (if the player hasnt played a certain category, they are generally considered to be last on that category by this ranking system). Some games like GoldenEye use a points based system, but it's the same concept. This is technically supported on the site, by manually updating a players ranking when he submits (1080 Snowboarding does this, see link [4]), but for a game like Mario Kart Wii which has thousands of players ranked, it is almost impossible to do this.
For some examples of AF rankings, you can check the links below ([5], [6], and [7]) as well as a concept by @warspyking (link [8])
I am sure there are more features that people can think of (such as glitch leaderboards inheriting runs from the glitchless leaderboards), but these 3 I think are the absolute most essential features for IL based competition on the site.

TT Resources
This is a list of Time Trial leaderboards/links/resources that I have compiled. If you would like to contribute anything, feel free to reply to this thread.
- The Rules These are the most generally agreed upon rules for Time Trials competition. They are not universal however as some people may want to track times under their own ruleset (such as certain leaderboards allowing pause buffering).
- The Mario Kart Wii Players Page The original leaderboards for the Time Trials, going back to 2008. The site also contains leaderboards for each mainline Mario Kart.
- MKLeaderboards Worldwide/Continental/Regional top 10s. MKLeaderboards does not require the player who set the run to submit, as all legit runs are displayed, so this is much more accurate than the PP.
- Flap Top 10s Worldwide and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) fast lap top 10s.
- MKWii Leaderboards A list I have compiled of many of the time trial leaderboards out there. The reason I did not simply put them here is because there are just too many.
- Cyberscore Similar to the Players' Page, but on Cyberscore. Significantly less active though, although it also has some full game categories.
- Video Games Records No that's not a typo, the sites name is just weird. Basically the same as Cyberscore and the PP but does not contain non-shortcut categories.
- Twin Galaxies Non-shortcut only leaderboards. Super inaccurate and not to be taken seriously, but it's here for completions sake.
- Chadsoft I am putting this at the bottom because while it is technically a leaderboard, that is not it's primary focus. It's main focus is to be a ghost database. This is where you're going to go to find ghosts for everyone's time trials for both 150cc and 200cc on regular and custom tracks, as this is where CTGP uploads its ghosts. While it is more accurate than some other sites I've listed here, there are many duplicate players.
- Ninrankings Exact same deal as Chadsoft, except this is what was used before we had CTGP. As it is pre-CTGP there are also many hacked times on here. If for whatever reason the link doesn't work, there is https://maschell.de/ as an alternative.
- MKWRS The WR history site for MKWii Time Trials. Features history for 3lap only, but includes alternate categories and pause buffered times. It also includes a list of pending/banned records and has a variety of fun statistics.
- Flap WR History A spreadsheet tracking the WR history for Flaps.
- OR History [dead link for now, waiting for one that doesnt give edit perms] A spreadsheet tracking the history of Oceanic records.
- Best Known Splits/Paces This is a spreadsheet containing the best known splits (individual laps) for each track and it's relevant categories, as well as for different strategies. It also includes the best known paces (2 consecutive laps).
- Flap Entry Times This is a spreadsheet of timings for when you should enter lap 2 on each track to complete your flap with optimal cycles.
- CTGP Records A YouTube channel that uploads the majority of world records for both regular and custom tracks.
- CTGP Alternative Records Similar to CTGP Records, but for top 10s, shroomless times, and other such runs.
- MKWii Archives Similar to CTGP Alternative Records, but also contains regional top 10 times and many old WRs.
- Mindscarp Old school WR recorder (Pre-2011).
- WR Playlist A YouTube playlist of all the current Time Trial world records.
- NMeade A YouTuber that uploads lots of TT related content such as monthly WR recaps, track tutorials, etc.
- Arcintel A YouTuber with multiple tutorial videos covering techniques such as softdrifting and spindrifting. Pretty useful for beginners. Make sure to check his playlists.
- Mario Kart Message Board This is the forum page for the Players' Page.
- Mario Kart Boards A forum page primarily focused on online competitive Mario Kart, but it has a Time Trials section.
- MKWii DE The German forums.
- French Forums The French forums.
- TT Rec A website by WhatIsLoaf with all the tools and information you will ever need to begin recording Time Trial runs on either Console or Emulator.
- MKW TT Rec Scripts My collection of shell scripts (These work on Mac/Linux, not Windows) to automate the recording of TTs.
- CTGP Install Guide The official instruction guide to installing CTGP, which is the gold standard for proof in modern TTs.
- The MKW Dictionary An extensive list of all sorts of acronyms, abbreviations, and other MKWii jargon.
- TAS Records The website for MKWii TASs. It contains a complete list of all current TAS records, TASers, and has links to other things such as their discord server.
- Hunters rDKJP Glitch Alignment Ghost The alignment ghost that almost everyone can be seen using when playing the glitch category of N64 DK's Jungle Parkway

It is expected that you will fill out all the boxes, although you don't need to write an essay for additional notes. Once the request is reviewed, a Bedrock moderator will contact you via whatever contact method you listed on the form.
I felt, I would make this post to clarify the current stance on runners that cheat in other games, especially with all the questions I've had regarding the Dream situation.
Speedrunning is inherently a trust based activity. As moderators, we do our best to ensure the validity of runs on the leaderboards, but quite frankly there is only so much we can do, and faked runs with always be able to slip through the cracks.
It is this fact that speedrunning is trust based that has lead to our very tough stance on cheaters which frequently lead to permanent bans, as opposed to our sister game Java Edition's much more lenient stance, more frequently allowing runners to redeem themselves under more stringent proof standards.
Our policy towards cheaters however extends past just Minecraft Bedrock. Should we be made aware of a runner cheating in another game that is not this one, as is the case with @7H3, we will look at the runners runs in far more detail, and be much more cautious. That being said however, cheating in Java Edition, Legacy Edition, etc. will not at all be tolerated, and runners that do so will be treated far more harshly. Why? Because speedrunning is an inherently trust based competition, and those that cheat, especially in our sister games, have violated our communities trust.
The decision to ban Dream was not a one-off thing. We simply took this as an opportunity to send the message loud and clear that we will not tolerate cheaters, Bedrock or not.

After lots of discussion in our discord server and community vote we have decided to remove the platform split from coop and individual level runs. Changes will soon be made to the category extensions too.
The results of the poll were as follows: Main Solo: 37 Platform Split / 18 Input Split / 7 No Split Main Coop: 21 Platform Split / 9 Input Split / 26 No Split ILs: 12 Platform Split / 10 Input Split / 33 No Split Main Cat Ext: 32 Platform Split / 17 Input Split / 9 No Split Cat Ext ILs: 12 Platform Split / 9 Input Split / 34 No Split
Happy crafting!
There is no need to freak out! This is just a necessary step that we need to take as we transition coop from being platform split, to being unsplit.
Blame the websites variable system for being more outdated than the Mario Kart Players' Page
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
You can find the rules over at https://www.mcbe.wtf/rules
No. Timers are not required for runs as us moderators will retime you runs anyways. Requiring a timer is also against the site moderation rules
No. We don't allow this in order to avoid players purposely submitting glitchless runs to glitch categories with less players to increase their position on leaderboards. It also makes the leaderboards more accurate as doing otherwise would mean copy pasting every glitchless run to glitch leaderboards.
As long as your submission meets both the category and game rules, it is considered enough proof for your run and it will be verified.
Always submit your run as the platform of the physical device you played on. If you played on an iPhone, submit as iOS. If you played on a Windows PC, submit as PC.
As long as your video doesn't get taken down by the time we review your run, there is no problem with music in your runs. It's also not recommend to use "Dream running" music, because it might make your run come off as a troll submission (we get these A LOT).
No.
It depends. If your texture pack provides an advantage such as clear water, no nether fog, etc. its banned. If it does not provide any kind of advantage, its legal. Short swords is NOT considered an advantage. If you're still not sure, contact a moderator.
Splicing multiple clips together is out of the question as stated in the game rules. Potential alternatives include but are not limited to, purchasing a capture card, or recording via an external device such as a phone or camera.
Trapping the Wither in bedrock is considered a glitch and is only allowed for glitch categories. Trapping the Wither in obsidian however is considered glitchless and allowed in those categories.
The rules very clearly state you cannot execute commands during the run. Lots of runners are submitting glitch runs that execute commands. These submissions will be met with an instant rejection.

Stop posting about it in this forum. If you want to discuss it, add a moderator or whatever on discord and do it there. I’ll be deleting any future threads related to it because it’s getting out of hand.
So I'm taking a look at the IGT spreadsheet and it seems like we're nearing the end of the retiming process and since there was some discussion about in the discord, I thought I would make this thread so some ideas could get thrown around without getting flooded away.
Basically the issue from what I gathered was what to do with runs that have no proof as we obviously can't verify the IGT of those runs (and requiring videos for all runs is out of the question).
Personally I think that for these runs, the IGT column should be filled in with the runs real time. This way someone with a real time faster than someone elses IGT still gets ranked above them (as they should)
Another issue some people voiced was that people who dont have proof for their runs could just lie about their IGT, however I don't see this as an issue personally as the same can be done now with real time. As an added layer of proof however we could mandate that all runs have as a minimum proof level, photos of the end time of each run? Since real time wouldnt be the main ranking anymore you could just pause the game to take a photo. Its still fakeable but atleast you need to actually drive the track to get the time.

Just want to post this reminder as I've seen a few runners submitting runs that start/end at unclear times without posting timestamps (such as when you submit the same all ores video to all ores and diamond only)
Please submit timestamps if the start/end of your run is unclear so we can get through the runs faster :)
@ShiGame, It has recently come to our attention that you have released a YouTube video claiming to have achieved a falsified World Record in the All Woods Cooperative category for the category extensions. In this video your attitude makes it quite clear that you intend to cheat to make a point. That being said, on the run that you do get the record you said the following:
And yes guys I just want to confirm that this is actually legit I did not cheat on this whatsoever. The reason why my video is not able present there is because it failed to process
You then later claim that this is due to bad internet as many family members were using the internet at the time. If you were unable to process the video however, how did you upload the video we are currently watching? This combined with the different excuse later on in the video and the fact that you are seen standing still for the first 20 seconds of the run is enough proof in our minds to deduce that this is a falsified run.
With all that being said, its been agreed that from now on, having submit the run or not, you will be required to show both perspectives in all future cooperative submissions to both leaderboards. The community has also investigated the claim that you found a new acacia tree closer to spawn and has not found anything, so we recommend that you share the coordinates of the acacia.
If you have any objections to this, feel free to reply to this thread or message a moderator on discord.
@Sharks332 You obviously played a role in this situation as you provided the only perspective available in the run. There is no doubt by the community your part of the run was legit, but one must consider your role in the production of a falsified run. We have DM'd you on discord regarding the run.
If you have come here to ask "is xyz" allowed, then please read both the rules and the FAQ thread. If you cannot find anything disallowing xyz, then it is allowed
After being granted temporary moderator permissions, I updated the rules to use markdown as well as making a few changes to the rules such as requiring runners to include the timestamp at which the runs starts if the provided video is substantially longer than the run itself. So with that being said I recommend you all read the rules as some new ones have been added, and maybe you just missed something before (assuming you even read the rules Kappa)
Feel free to reply to this thread with any criticisms or suggestions regarding the rules.
The following rules are currently being discussed: Nothing!
