I'm noticing some frame dips even though I have everything on low settings besides shadows (for the puzzles). I'm curious to see what I have set wrong because I'm noticing in the WR videos I'm behind by like 5-10 seconds even before I get the bolt cutters. And I have certain times stuck in my head and in the very beginning cut scene where we see Ethan driving the car just before we are in the POV of him in the car, that part of the cut scene starts (for me) at 1:50 but for a WR run I watched it started at 1:46-1:47. So right off the bat, without the game even starting yet I'm losing time for no reason.
Everyone starts at 2:33, because thats the igt, we only counts igt, so livesplits is just there for shits and giggles
Livesplit's not desyncing 1 minute and 50 seconds into a run though, TuCritical. Faster load times are going to start cutscenes and load maps faster, that's just a given. An SSD would probably benefit every runner of this game.
I've been thinking of getting an SSD but never found the use for one yet. Would that really fix it? I don't know too much about SSD's. Whats the difference?
I can't say it would specifically fix your issue, but it would definitely speed up load times for you in general. A solid state drive is a lot faster than a standard mechanical drive. Big games like MGS5 loaded a LOT faster for me with an SSD when I had one.
For some games, like RE1 HD Remaster, they don't make a difference. It's the more modern games like RE7 where there's massive map loads etc they can help. I wouldn't go out of your way to spend money on an SSD for running this game, but if your budget allows for it, there's a ton of benefits to running an SSD in general beyond speedrunning. I wouldn't be surprised if you had better load times etc by switching to one.
It's important to note though, that for some cut scenes the IGT doesn't run while it's loading. This is evident in the beginning of the game (granted it's only a second) when you can see Livesplit accurately use load removal to pause the timer between Mia's video and Ethan's car scene. But loading up games and maps etc are definitely going to benefit.
It's up to you. I don't think it's ever going to get to the point where WR holds the best performing hard/solid state drive, lol.
Just having an SSd would make it go faster? Or would I have to move the game from my HDD to the SSD to make it go faster?
Also I dont think its a problem with the IGT. I have been consistantly getting to that part of the cutscene at 1:50, everytime. But others I watch get to bolt cutters around 5:30-5:35, and I can barely get to the bolt cutters at 5:40. So thats why I'm asking if I have a graphics setting differently then what would be btter/faster for the run.
Are you using the skip Andre glitch and the reload glitch to run faster? I just did the bolt cutters without doing the andre glitch (I forgot about it). I've noticed Bawk can get to the house in like 3:43 as well and my split for that is always 3:45.
Also, no, the game (and ideally your operating system, you'll thank me later) would need to be on the SSD.
I'm also not saying the game will "go faster" but that loads will definitely be faster. There MIGHT be some slow down during loads on your system, there might not. That's why I don't suggest buying an SSD just for this game. There's a ton of perks to having them though, if you have the budget.
Whats the andre glitch and reload glitch?
And oh okay I had a feeling the OS would have to move there too.
If you look to the right while moving where Andre will pop up, and wait until after you hear his body float up, you'll skip the scene where he floats up top and causes Ethan to fall under.
When you enter the Guest House and are near the cabinet where you use the bolt cutters, stop and retry the game. You'll load up right there and you'll run faster.
In addition, after fighting Mia with the axe in the hallway, when you enter the door that opens after fighting her, stop and retry. You'll get another speed boost. The game forgets what your max run speed should be and you move a lot quicker.
Oh okay I know the andre skip. Never heard it called anything yet so I didnt know what you meant :P. But yea I do that one, but I didnt know about those two retry strats.
I've noticed my game lags when I enter the courtyard and main hall. Turning all my graphics settings down helped a lot but then my stream lags bad during those parts. I can't figure out how to fix it.
Simple answer; upgrade your PC really. My PC is a piece of shit, i use windowed 1600x1024 with literally everything set to off or minimum and I still lag while recording. If you're lagging while using a beast of a PC, y'alls PC got some internal issues, or your CPU/GPU settings are wrong.
Recommended hardware for this game is
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 3770 3.4GHz or AMD equivalent or better Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 with 3GB VRAM
Yeah I only have an i5 which is my main problem. I can eliminate lag almost everywhere but he yard and main hall.
Gonna go with an i7 when I can get one through my work but I won't be able to until July.
As far as i'm aware Bawk runs on an i5 and runs pretty damn good and streams+records with it. Unless yours is a low-end i5, like, the worst, then it should handle it. Try streaming/recording with the game running and check your CPU usage. Theres a lot of factors: How much RAM have you got What GPU are you using Are you running from an SSD Have you got 50 chrome tabs open in the background (actually, like 3 is enough) Have you disabled aero, and are you minimizing unnecessary CPU usage (dropbox and itunes process' aren't required factors for a speedrun!)
High settings for me (GTX 970) at 1080p make me struggles. Not because my PC have a problem, just because my card ran out of VRAM and stutter a lot
Hello everyone
It has been brought to our attention that Cero D is becoming a really big thorn in our sides. Especially for PC runners. Some can no longer boot up the version. Because of this we will be looking into altering the times of the leaderboard. Right now the priority is PC. Since PC
