Twitch streamer and shart extraordinaire ScubaSaul pulled off this move by during his first time playing Zelda2. He was missing the Up stab technique later in the game and needed to get to a blocked off section. Hadn't seen this before. Is this a known glitch or technique used in speed runs?

it's used in categories where you don't need to get everything, mostly in "Any%" categories.
it's a super old speed tech, probably known since the game came out.

Edit: and I say that recognizing that I clearly don't watch nearly enough Z2 speed runs.
