Cut scene skips

How do you skips the cut scenes in between matches so quickly as per Hamonhalil and WagnerMusic's runs? They are almost instantanious. I feel like i've tried every button combo and i cant get it any quicker than my current run, its one at a time instead of all at once.

Is it a rom difference or a emulator difference? On the afore mentioned runners runs i see there is a field of crashed graphics at the bottom. I use BGB and it doesn't appear there.

Any help would be appreciated. Juts trying to speed up my runs and this cut scene skip saves a precious few seconds!

It's an emulator difference, the skipping cutscenes only works with Retroarch FixGB v0.82 Alpha (haven't tested other versions). It really shouldn't be allowed imo and from what i see the Rules been changed, so the only Emulators that should be used is BGB and Gambatte. I dunno if the mod gonna remove both of the Runs or just keeping them.

Good point, thanks for bringing it up, will look into it.

Would it be a case of if you can’t do it on the actual cartridge you shouldn’t be able to do it on an emulator?

On an Actual Cartridge, you wouldn't see that quick skip. But because the RetroArch Version with FixGB Core was built differently and i guess it was in an Alpha State, making it unstable, glitchy and all sorts of stuffs. The last time i tested FixGB (without Retroarch), it doesn't have that skip thing so it's safe to assume it's only the RetroArch with FixGB Core that brings up the issue. That's why it's best to use BGB or Gambatte since it's Real Time Clock and has an accurate way to behave like a Gameboy on the Console (no skipping and all that mess).

Not sure if i answered your Question.

If it's not possible on real hardware it should not be allowed. Any emulator features like fast forward or skip features, save states etc. are not allowed.

@RetroMaestroHalil did you use the described RetroArch/fixGB setup?

agreed.

yes, i did just like WillWagnerMusic did too.

The two runs in question were removed. As mentioned, emulator-only features (which are not possible on real hardware) should not be allowed.
