Timer Start Discrepancy?

Hello, I'm making this forum post with the intent of pointing out what I believe to be a verification error with some times on the leaderboards. Just so that I don't embarrass anyone, a 'specific' user has started their timer AFTER the "start" has disappeared, and some of these times have been verified despite this. Just as a reminder, the timer for these categories should begin when "start" is FIRST displayed.

I want to point this out because it goes against the rules for the categories this user has times in. Even timing the videos from this user myself, I can safely say that their WR in "Back Attack", 2nd place in "Splash Bash", and 2nd place in "Roll to the Goal", should likely be re-timed to align with the appropriate rules for those categories.

If I'm in the wrong, and this user has started their timer correctly, I'll take down this post. Sorry for the inconvenience, didn't know where else to post this, and I hope this issue can be resolved.

No embarrassment here. Obviously that person is me. I’m not at a computer right now, but when I am (probably in a few hours) I will retime them from the first start frame and I will change the times as soon as I can. If a moderator would also like to do so, please feel free. Thank you for bringing this up. I would feel bad if my inaccurate timing caused someone faster than me to be placed below me on the leaderboard. Sorry for the inconvenience. I will make sure to take note of this for all future runs. Again, my apologies. I will be cautious to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.

This is perfectly fine pointing out imo. It is something that we all needed a little refresher on. I'm glad that y'all took it well.

Hey guys, I've gone back, retimed and resubmitted all my incorrectly timed minigames. I've also fixed the titles of the videos. A moderator will check them, and after they're public you guys can check them if you want. Again, sorry about this.

Oh it's all cool. It's something that happens in the speedrunning world. I'm just glad no one threw anything this time.

It's not that big of a deal, as long as the mods aren't too lazy to retime it (Or the specific person retimes it themselves)

I already re-timed and check some run that people submitted to the correct category and times (like 12 runs). During this days, I'll be checking past run for see if all timed runs are good.

I have seen some suspicious runs recently (especially the ones that are just recorded with a camera in front of the TV screen) , and I do admit I am lazy when it comes to verifying runs. Now that this community has grown larger, I will be catching my mistakes and make sure that no players try to take advantage of my laziness.

Pretty sure my "Back Attack" run needs to be re-timed. Going frame-by-frame in the YouTube player, you'll notice that my timer starts 0.130 seconds BEFORE "start" is first visible. The run ends when the timer reads 12.730 seconds, which is what was submitted to the leaderboard. Subtracting the the two times gives 12.600 seconds.

Feel free to call me out if I'm wrong.
