The timing/troop positioning for the conquest of Texas can be messy, I had some trouble there this run. Also could have used my navy to blockade Mexico which may have forced them to surrender sooner. I'm sure the start of the war could be optimized as well. I found I had to Justify on Texas before getting access, so I had dead time after getting the wargoal against Mexico. I decided to wait a sec before declaring so Mexico didn't go after my 9k armies before I got my 12ks into Texas. But there are definitely some other options available, this strategy just proved the most consistent during my runs.
