This written guide aims to provide a way to beat each of the buildings in Trick Shot Mode with the fewest troubles possible. Note that these strats are far from optimized regarding both time spent and convenience, however, this will hopefully change in the future. Due to possible hardware acceleration and other dependencies that have not been figured out yet, it is best for you to check some of these strats out in casual play before implementing them in runs. Also note that the buildings don’t appear in this order during gameplay, but totally randomized within each chapter. Building numbers can be found in the bottom right corner of the screen.
– aim for the top left plate
– aim for the leftmost spot when its plate starts ascending
– shoot the rightmost spot when it starts ascending
– just follow the title of the level (on a serious note, in these “item moving on a horizontal axis” type levels, aiming for when the item reaches the edge is probably a good way to learn timings)
– shoot the right plate as it turns over to the left side of the dot
– see building 3
– shoot the triangle in the middle that’s facing left, try aiming lower so as to not accidentally miss the plate, you’ll get used to these displacements later on
– try shooting the middle section of the block when it’s tilted a bit over 135 degrees (note: degrees are counted anti-clockwise and the default position is horizontal)
– try shooting when the blocks are closest to each other
– try shooting immediately as the topmost blocks are coming apart, timing is quite tight here and cycles can mess things up
– once again, just follow the title of the level
– wait a cycle, then shoot the leftmost plate when it starts descending
– try shooting when the plate is unobstructed
– aim for the leftmost spot
– aim for the leftmost spot of the top plate
– while the half-circle is facing you aka. the gondola, try shooting the leftmost plate as it’s ascending, while it’s still unobstructed by the ones below it
– aim for the rightmost spot at its highest point
– try shooting when the block is at one of its edge positions
– try shooting the middle section of the block when it’s at around 45 or 135 degrees, depending on which side you are at
– try aiming for the edge of the middle dot such as you don’t hit the dots below it, and pray (results can vary based on what item you get, which is, to a certain point, randomized)
– learn the timing
– try shooting a short time after the singular plate reaches one of the sides, as to hit the top half of the pair that’s coming right after
– try shooting the left- or rightmost plate while it’s ascending, but not yet at its peak
– shoot the middle section of the left block
– shoot the second-from-left section of the left block
– aim at the leftmost triangle with the chute (note: this is nowhere near an edge case and can be quite annoying)
– shoot the triangle when the item is unobstructed (aka. no dots crossing the path)
– try shooting the rightmost triangle the moment the moving one reaches the left edge
– a good spot to aim for the moving triangle is right next to the stationary one
– try aiming for a spot with the chute such as it is in the top right section of the circle, to generate enough momentum for the tumble
– aim at the leftmost triangle
– learn the timing, aiming for the middle is probably the easiest
– try shooting the right triangle as the hotdog formation is about to turn vertical
– essentially, the goal is to build up enough momentum to trigger the tumble by getting the plate to spin around, the way i do this is by aiming for a ricochet between two of the rightmost dots that would then lead to hitting one of the spots on the plate. this method however is probably the most unconsistent in this whole guide and is up to debate
– aim for the left-/rightmost spot while it’s unobstructed
– try shooting when the chute starts moving to the right
– learn the timing
– try activating the chute while it’s near its right edge, but not quite there yet (that would make you hit a lower plate)
– activate the top right chute
– try shooting when the X formation starts speeding up
– aim for the leftmost spot with the left chute (or the rightmost spot with the right chute, idk if that’s harder i never tried it)
– learn the timing
– learn the timing
– the correct angle of the block here should be around 15/105 when you shoot (im not sure), aim for the second section from the top
– try shooting the middle section of the right block when the plate is nearing its peak
– watch out, the plate moves on a half-elliptic course! try shooting the triangle immediately as the plate lands
– try shooting the middle section of the block when it’s at around 45 degrees and approximately at its peak, the timing here can be quite a pain in the ass to figure out
– try aiming at this exact joint point of the bricks
(alternatively, wait for the chute to pass the point when it's not aiming at the bottom plate anymore but also not completely on the left side yet. hard to explain, you can watch my 12:51 run for a demonstration)
– shoot the rightmost spot on the circular plate when it starts ascending
– activate the chute while it is in the rightmost position
– activate the chute while it’s horizontally pointing left
– learn the timing, ignore the chute
– aim for the right triangle
– shoot through the gap at the left to hit the block above (i wonder if this was intended)
– aim for one of the triangles at the bottom, or maybe second lowest
– try shooting the right triangle while it’s unobstructed (or the left one?)
– just wait for the opening to face you and shoot through it
– try shooting the top left triangle when it reaches its highest point
– shoot the top mid triangle
– try shooting the triangle when the moving portal reaches the topmost plate
– try shooting the rightmost portal as the triangles are approaching to obstruct it
– shoot the ceiling while the triangle is going towards the right, such as it gets right below you and you can get the treasure to bounce to the right and avoid all the portals
– aim at the topmost section of the right block
– activate the chute when it starts moving to the right (precise as hell)
– see building 13
– aim for the middle section of either top platform
– aim at the intersection between the right block's first two intersections from the left, or vice versa
– try shooting the triangle as it faces the opening (i can’t really describe it otherwise, sorry)
– try shooting the triangle while its shorter side is at 135 degrees (or a bit more possibly)
– try shooting the right triangle while its longer side is at 135 degrees (or a bit more possibly)
– try aiming at this exact joint point of the bricks
(hardware acceleration required?)
– shoot the stone just as the block is approaching to obstruct it
– aim for the moving triangle. “not immediately obvious” my ass
– aim for the moving triangle
– aim for the moving triangle as the plate starts ascending
– aim for the leftmost plate, ignore the chute
– aim at the left edge of the right dot
– aim for the bottom left triangle
– activate the chute when it starts moving to the right (precise as hell)
– no idea about the angle here…just learn the timing
– a consistent solution is shooting when the triangle reaches its leftmost rotation point, but it can be quite slow so...you decide
– aim for the left portal
– shoot one of the triangles such as it moves out of the way so you can hit the stone on the respective side freely
– shoot the triangle such as it moves out of the way so you can hit both stones freely, OR just wait for the triangle to be level with the plate and then shoot it
– try shooting the left portal while the moving triangle is approaching the right portal
– aim for the middle portal
– aim for the middle dot to hit the plate right after, ignore everything else
– aim for the top bucket, or, if you feel consistent enough, try bouncing off the dot to hit the plate
– aim for the left side of the middle triangle
– see building 89
– shoot the rightmost triangle as the plate starts descending
– try shooting the left portal as the stone is approaching to obstruct it
– aim at the left edge of the right dot
– try shooting between the second and third dot from the left
– see building 80 :/ im sorry
– aim at the left edge of the top right dot, or the other way around
– try cheesing this by aiming for the plate and “ignoring” the chute, or learn the timing which i so far have not been able to do
– try aiming at this intersection in the background pattern
– try shooting the left side of the triangle as it goes below 135 degrees
– learn the timing, basically you have to precisely “line up” all the plates for the tumble
– try shooting the rightmost plate as it’s approaching its peak
– try shooting the right chute while they are lined up
– aim for the very left edge of the top block, to skip the moving triangle
– try shooting the bottom chute as it’s going upwards to face the portal
