Hi,
I would like to be added to the moderator list of this game.
I want to use the IL leaderboards to bring more attention to gema. The concept is:
- Players submit demos of their runs
- Accepted demos should be archived (e.g. on archive.org)
- Videos of the demos should be uploaded to YouTube and should be shown on the speedrun.com run pages
- The score time should be calculated from the demos (SV_FLAGMSG timestamp - SV_SPAWN timestamp)
Since it's a lot of manual work only a selection of the most popular maps and only the best available score demos should be added for now.
I think any emulator should be fine. Feel free to use the one with the fastest load times.
I have seen this glitch once in the PC version (in front of "The Construction Site, Part I") but it was fixed when I entered and exited the level. I don't know what causes it though.
The hidden windows do only exist in the PC version.
And the dinosaur skip is much easier in the PS1 version, you select "EXIT GAME" just before the dinosaur eats you. Then the game thinks that you have beaten the level normally and the window left to the dinosaur level will open.
Hi,
the trick is to turn around without taking a step to the left. It's harder in the PS1 version because of input delay, I would recommend to do it like this:
- Press Square to do the Spin Attack
- Turn left while spinning (This way you are guaranteed to not walk to the left)
- Jump (to cancel the spin) and turn right again in air
This is also what I did to skip the box in the first level.
You might also want to take a look at the TAS which shows some tricks that are not possible in the PC version:
Good luck with your speedruns.
btw: The "Skip Obstacle Glitch" heading is a link to a separate page: https://kb.speeddemosarchive.com/Pink_Panther:_Pinkadelic_Pursuit/Game_Mechanics_and_Glitches/Skip_Obstacle_Glitch
That's ok too.
While reaching the credits is technically the real "Any%" it is less interesting to watch than defeating the final boss. And it's a good idea to have the most entertaining category set as the default category which shows up when someone opens this games leaderboard.
Thanks a lot for adding me as a moderator for this game.
I thought about the categories again and I'd say that ILs for this game are overkill since there is not much that can go wrong.
However the full game runs are interesting in my opinion. I did an acceptable run of the "Reach Credits" category today and I will also run 100%.
The game "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (PC)" has a similar problem with the any% category. They added a "Better Any%" category which should be useful for this game too.
I'd suggest to rename the current any% to "Better Any%" and make "Reach Credits" the new any%.
Timing for "Reach Credits" and 100% should end when hitting "Continue" after the final level.
I have a few ideas for new categories:
Full game:
¤ "Reach the Credits" (Unlock all Snowy Levels and complete them 100%, then complete the final level) ¤ 100% (Complete every level 100%, defeat all bosses and complete the final level)
IL:
¤ Any% (Snowy levels: collect all bones, Other levels: reach level end) ¤ 100% (Collect all coins; every level except boss and snowy levels)
Each of the categories can be done in "Easy" or "Normal" mode.
Hey,
I played this game for quite a while now and I was unable to find any skip for this game. I did find a few glitches but none of them is useful.
Therefore I would like to ask anyone who plays/played this game and found a trick or glitch to report it either here or send me an e-mail. You can also tell me about better routes if mine are not optimal. It'd be cool if the tricks have a use in a speedrun, but please report them anyways even if they don't.
My e-mail address is: wesenandroid@gmail.com
If you have a time saving trick I will mention you in the speedrun description if you want.
Where is the video of that run? On this site there are only 4 pictures and one video with random music: http://www.speedrun.com/run/9yo0d1dy
On his Twitch profile there is only a run that was done in 59:17, not in 58:26. That would be rank 2 and not rank 1. I found that run here:
When I use the sidebar on the left side to choose another category for the full game, the site will not switch to this category. It works only when I use the tabs on the right side.
If you know of any tricks or glitches in this game that are not listed in the guide yet report them in this thread please. This also includes route improvements or unreachable areas.
Keep in mind that the jump height is lower in the PC version, so some tricks (especially ones from the TAS) might not work in the version that I speedrun.
You can also directly edit the guide by creating an account on speeddemosarchive.com.
Thanks PojeBunny, I'll try to get a near perfect run in the any% section (full game and IL). I probably won't update the other sections unless there will be someone who speedruns this game too.
Hi,
I found two games which are used to post fake speedruns. These are no speedruns of that game, instead there are random pictures and videos. The backgrounds also don't fit these games.
The first is "Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando/Locked & Loaded" (rank 1 any% at least). The second one is "Disney's Lilo & Stitch (GBA)".
Is there a way to report players who post spam runs and games which are solely used to post runs like this? Or is it intended to let these runs stay on this site? It is very annoying if you want to watch a speedrun and all you get are random pictures/videos.
I'll write short guides for each level and one guide for movement techniques and try to write down everything I found out about this game.
