Personally I think that a netherite ingot would be more interesting to go for than ancient debris, then it would be in alignment with all minerals, and also provides the option of going for a bastion remnant.

Note: 8 hours is actually a really optimistic estimate. My only full run so far was about 18 hours over 3 weeks, and the sum of my estimated optimal times for all parts comes to about 6hours 25minutes. Also, the answer would also determine whether I try it in random seed as well, which would take well over 48 hours, but I mean I'd be the only one dumb enough to attempt it. However, the biggest problem I see with random seed runs being done over multiple days is how easily you could just not record going in, checking the seed, going out again, and cheating that way so I don't think it could ever be acceptable. And that would be especially true for people like me with no reputation as yet, but even someone like Illumina might struggle to provide adequate evidence to avoid all suspicion. Set seed, on the other hand, there is no need to worry about that, although the issue of whether splicing may have occurred is still a big problem, I don't know the ins and outs of speedrunning well enough. From reading all the rules, I'm still not entirely sure whether using only in-game time for such a run is correct or whether I have to include loading screens if I enter or leave the world. Honestly, I see why no one has done these ridiculous advancement runs since 1.12, there is so much ambiguity in how to record for someone with little speedrunning experience, and the speed run itself could be ruined so easily in so many ways, usually involving death, wither skulls not dropping and your elder guardian dying too early. Also, ghasts are hard to get in the overworld, and you need a fair amount of netherite, and don't get me started on getting both bad omen and hero of the village while levitating and having a beacon maxed out and mining fatigue, and having just eaten a pufferfish.

Hi, I only just signed up to the website and I'm wondering about this for a Minecraft 1.16 all advancements speedrun when the update is released? I'm still hunting for good seeds, which are still pending on any world gen changes, but with my current seed it takes about 4 hours for me to do all of them except for 'how did we get here', which takes about 2 hours on its own to setup. I'm wondering whether I have to do the speedrun in one sitting and recording as in my first attempts it may take up to 8 hours if things go badly? I'm a high school student, work part-time, and am a national level athlete so it's hard for me to fit in 8 hours straight playing Minecraft.
