@Deln @Bemels I have responded within the thread in the game forums about mods, I've been so busy lately hence being less active, more mods is a good idea anyhow so posted in the thread to get the ball rolling, sorry about things

Sorry for not being very active, I've not really been able to get any further with the game myself as being at university exams are taking over. I think adding 2 more mods is a good and, with having multiple mods, I think a fair unwritten rule would be to look at the runs submitted but always have someone else verify your own runs, just as a standard thing.

But yea, on the whole idea, I think it is a good idea, since at the moment I am low on time and a bit neglecting of the submissions due to being as busy. Who does everyone else think is best for being mod, better to make it a group decision

I think I can probably guess the answer and it being something along the lines of the Hyrule Castle event not activating without going through all the stuff on the Plateau but what's the reason that the Fall Damage Cancellation isn't used to skip the Plateau? I doubt it would be because of the need for the moves being added to the Sheikah Slate just because even though you need extra weapons/food from inside Hyrule Castle you could surely go a different route that isn't slower than doing all the Plateau Shrines to get what you need before fighting Ganon. What is the reason?

It would only be considered for the leaderboards if there were multiple people optimising it and submitting runs since, as Demo has said, it's really quite arbitrary since there is no such thing as NG+ in this game just playing levels on a completed file. It's not a thing and none of the mods here agree it should be, as things stand right now

Fluttering, then going lower, before using an egg to regain height, as throwing an egg gives you a height boost up until the max height of your highest flutter

Problem with that comes to this: are there realistically enough differences between that and Classic mode to justify inclusion. I mean, I'll be honest I never really tested mellow mode, but from what I can see other than allowing the use of the skip badge the only thing it does is allow hovering without repressing, and even then the difference in hovering is literally a lack of egg boosting (which has only a few uses for minor parts of some levels) and generally slower hovering. Is there anything different?

As it is, it's not worth adding to the boards as it's basically just Any% Classic if you take away the skip badge but about 30-60secs slower at most due to 1 or 2 minor route differences if that

Dang, that's one hell of a punishment, is that even legal because surely that's torture ;)

Game Name: Rodea the Sky Soldier (Wii)

System: Was released on Wii U and 3DS with the Wii version a pack-in with Wii U, but I'll be playing Wii

Category: Any%

Gameplay Estimate: 1:20 estimate for safety, really should be below 1:15

Ending/Bonus Estimate: Could show off a 1p2c multiplayer level or a few silly OoB segments if it was wanted, would add about 5-7minutes if I did

Possible Donation Incentives: I guess you could do one for the bonuses I mentioned but otherwise not really... maybe a one for a controller cam since it's a motion controlled game

Sample run video: PB/WR, actually from a marathon (Scrubathon), 1:11:50

Description: This is such a unique run with very little downtime aside from a small autoscrolling section near the end, yet it is very easy to pick up and know what's going on even if you had little knowledge of the run prior to watching it. It's very fast paced with multiple skips and sequence breaks that save large chunks of time, as well as exploits of the games power ups and mechanics. The game has been run at a few marathons in the past, one being the Hayai Kawaii Marathon and another being Scrubathon which is where I recently PBed in this game. Despite being an unknown for most of the people viewing the run it was very well received as a game that defied expectations and was enjoyable viewing.

EDIT: Since you want availability as well now, should probably specify my availability, on the 29th I am available 4pm-1am, the 30th I should be available all day from 10am-1am, 31st 10am-10:30pm. All those time GMT :)

There is a bug that occurs in the game that causes the game to crash if you hit bosses before the curtain has fully raised on a boss fight. After discussions this has been allowed as the crash occurs at the end of the level after control is lost by the player, so this is allowed in ILs.

I mean, you can use it in full runs if you want, but considering it saves less than a second on the boss fights it is useful to hit the boss with an egg sooner and you have to reset your console via the plug after, I personally don't recommend it ;)

This is just so people know. I guess when tesing they didn't test spamming the (-) button (which is used to skip cutscenes) as a load screen ends which leads to the cutscene for the boss fight not loading and the boss starting immediately as the curtain is rising, giving a window for this to occur. Why it occurs I don't know.

Yeah, that's my bad, I got mixed up thinking of a normal run that ends on final hit >.<

I agree with that, ILs work because you can capture the screen at the end with lap and track times, but for full cups I'm not keen

Personally I'd have it as:

All Cups All Cups Hero Mode 300% (from a fresh file) Individual Cups (though I agree with this being better put in ILs)

All of those being hyper, any lower speeds imo if they're on the board at all or any other categories should be hidden behind misc

I was going to suggest to use something like this instead scaled down to 1080p since it means less looping of images and is a higher resolution while looking nice http://i.imgur.com/NozzsIV.jpg

Leaderboards look fine, I've added the speedrun.com logo and it's just what background people want to use, a logo for the game and and any colour coding

Thanks for adding as mod, looking forward to seeing how the game develops and trying some runs myself

EDIT: Not entirely relevant to this, but it's what I like to do if there are multiple mods on games I'm a mod of just as a general thing, should we agree to not accept our own runs if a mod submits? Just imo makes sense to do it that way even if I doubt there'd be a situation where a mod would submit anything which would need to be brought up, just think it's a fair way to go about it

That's probably perfect actually, with an image for the game and a background to make it pretty

Certainly better than it is now

I've asked in the mod request thread as I'm happy to clean this up, it's painful as it is

thread: The Site

Can I request moderation on the Fast Racing NEO leaderboards? http://www.speedrun.com/FAST_Racing_NEO

I am tempted to run this game though I am not 100% decided on this. However, the leaerboards in their current state are a mess, as has been pointed out in a thread on the board which has been so far ignored by the only moderator of the game, where in the meantime he has been online as he has been accepting his own runs. I am very happy to organise these leaderboards to an acceptable state and then, if I decide not to run it and another active runner wants to take my place I am happy to relinquish it and give them mod status instead. However, as things stand, the board needs sorting to have ILs be put in the IL section and streamlined so as not to contain 64 categories as it does now

YUMmy_Bacon5, PseudoLewis and 3 others like this

I'm willing to clean this up and do it till another runner wants to take up a place, and I say it that way as though I'm tempted to do ILs I'm not dead set on it yet

But I know how to clean this up and would be happy doing that

^^^

Just, the way it is now, is no good, to be frank about it

Yoshi's Woolly World does it for no. of controllers as well, so a filter for speed works
