Good to know! It really is an odd tradeoff between two pistols or an additional cutscene (and loading screen) and three guns (I think it's a pistol, rifle, and shotgun?).

Been grinding the first level, and with normal cutscene behavior, the best so far I've gotten is around a 2:01. It wasn't until I ended stream that I remembered a certain video:

Of course, I try it once off-stream, and on the first try I got it. X_X

I start the stream back up again, but as you can tell, it took another five minutes to get it to work again:

As the description in the first video says, I'm also wondering if this is frame perfect.

(As a side note, I'm convinced right now that SWAT kills Neo faster than police, but haven't compared the two enough for any real evidence. I'm thinking of starting a different timer and reloading the level instead of going through the first cutscene each time I want to compare.)

Looking at the IL rules it seems like I'll need to redo Burly Brawl. I was timing from either pressing yes on the retry screen or on the final button press of the upgrade screen prior to level load, then timing the end from when player control ended (in the case of this level, an in-game cutscene).

But hey, that's what I get for starting to run IL before reading any set rules.

I've been watching various speed runs and marathons for a while now. Every once in a while I'd look up The Matrix: Path of Neo to see if anyone was running the game.

When I finally found that Thursday was doing runs yesterday, I decided to try, albeit in a smaller category (Revolutions% being the last three levels) and for an individual level (Burly Brawl). However, with only any% category up right now, I'm not sure if these runs could be submitted or if they'd be accepted.

When I can find more time, I might start running any%, but I figured I may as well start somewhere.
