Thanks, I had a look at SRL and switched to snes9x 1.53 (it only states 1.4 is banned) and it's working much better so I guess I need to research more. Thanks :) now my times are only 3-4 seconds off, rather than 30 seconds lol

Hi,

I'm attempting an achievable speedrun with the aim of being in the top 10. The game is TMNT IV - Turtles in Time on SNES, but I'm using the zSNES Emulator.

Now, I know I should be using real hardware, but all this aside -

I feel as if my game doesn't run at the same speed as the console (which looks much quicker) and also, other emulated speed runs which look 'slightly' quicker. I actually base the speed off the sound of the four 'slams' when I slam an enemy, and also look at the animation time when throwing one over the edge.

I'll post some links as examples,

Hard any% speedrun #1 - ie the god. Done on genuine hardware.

This is an emulated run (not sure which emulator though) and what I'd be aiming for. I'm still a good 20-30 seconds off and this game appears to be running much quicker or smoother than mine.

My 30 second clip example done on zSNES and live streamed. CPU usage didn't spike or anything even though it's an i7 950 it's more than fine. This shows the slam and the throw speeds.

TLDR; am i doing it wrong? any suggestions?
