I am open for discussion on this topic. I did a rough timing of the loads. pc-12 ps4-22-switch-34 all in seconds of course. so there is some merrit to removing them. but for such a small game with only 4 runners (only 2 active) I am wondering if it is worth the effort?
the problem is the game itself doesn't have an IGtimer (that I am aware of) so we would have to remove the loads manually.
my issue: I mod a small (4 runners) game that is on 4 platforms (PC, Switch, Xboxone, PS4). I did a rough timing of the loads on 3 of the platforms (12s-22s-34s), Should such a small game be concerned with removing those load times? if not, when would we be concerned with removing them.
for a more general question, how does a game decide when to remove load times?
I just finished this casually (PS4). and if I ever get the time I would probably run it.
super cool. shall we call it platform skip?
so there is a new DLC count out and it is going to have an endless mode. if there is no online leader board, would this be a place to post ones score?
having PC and consoles on the same leaderboard when the tricks can't be done on both. I am poor and own a console, don't make me buy a sup'ed up pc to be relevent!
the GBA version is the only version I have access too, so I would also like to read some notes!
super cool. That jump is so difficult for me. wondering tho, can you still one cycle it? I would not think so. so a nice consistant safe strat or a riskier WR strat? I love it!
Hello. I decided to learn this game. I am interested in doing a 100% run as the routing of it sounds fun to me. I might try an any% as well.
splitting hairs here but you can save a tiny amount of time in the very beginning. as just the "O" when you fall. if you hit back right at the last moment, you can fall straight down without hitting the sides.
Fast Fall
Congrats to you on your run. But for me it is bitter sweet! I waited a month and had to get the site admins to make me a mod to get this game (revised) on here. and now I am 3rd!?!?
but I also want to thank you. for convincing me to run it more. I don't know if I can compete for the WR anymore, I was stuggling to get sub 45. but I enjoy it enough to keep trying.
I do have a question ( if you read this) you said that with the right angle you can jump over the gorged worm. do you have video of that? I tryed to do something like that for 30 min and concluded it couldn't happen. would love to be proved wrong!
also, does the wall jump not work on the switch, or does it not really save any time? (tut skip)
I do know that in order to reset the RNG you have to beat the game and let all of the credits play. if you don't none of the RNG manipulation would work properly.
what I think is funny about this is that you can do it with any hobby. Why play music? you most likely won't get famous or rich! why write poetry? nobody reads that anymore? why watch sports? what benifit can you get at all? why do anything? the answer to all of these is the same. I LIKE IT! I think we all, or at least most of use, know we are not going anywhere in life because of speedrunning. we do it as a hobby to help us with our shitty lives, or to relax, or whatever.
My dad asked my why I play the same game over and over? I answered him with "why do you tear apart you motorcycle over and over?" I think he understood then.
no longer move in the air? I know that if you fall off a ledge you can't move, but if you jump off you can keep your momentem. could that be what is happening?
If the load times are that different, maybe we should start the timer after it loads so as to not give PC an advantage over console?
trying to get videos of these.
Tut skip. minor save
Snaps skip
Escape skip (found by @MaturedSinner )
Sort Skip
hello. and I am glad to hear you want to run the game. I fully believe that sub 45 is possible.
I did not set the start time. and that is interesting about the load times. I was not aware about it either. I have no problem with a restart, as long as you do everything. haha
Let me know if you have any questions about anything else.
good luck
ok so It seems you have to do the first puzzle. The fireflies don't follow you until after it is done.
And I now know that if you do the last one next you still have to do them all.
I wish I could save and retry but on ps4 the auto save won't turn off. going to try again tomorrow to replicate it.
