Seen this link so many times before, it has nothing to do with the topic.
This thread will let you know what has been changed for this game, in case you're not in the Sonic Speedrunning discord server. Finished updating the game. Here are the changes:
#Full-game Leaderboard
- Added 'Use of any pre-released form of this game (especially Beta 8 ) is not allowed' to Main Rules.
- Added 'The game must run at 60 fps and the recording must be at a stable frame rate' to Main Rules.
- Added 'The original game and all its contents must be preserved and unmodified' added to Main Rules.
- Added 'Console emulators are banned' to Main Rules.
- Edited Beat The Game rules so it's easier to read.
- Added a new category All Emeralds.
- Added rules to All Emeralds.
- Added a variable to separate platforms in full game runs, since Sonic deals double damage to the bosses on Android/iOS making it faster.
- Sorted out the full run videos due to separating the platforms, by putting them in the correct boards.
- Sorted out the full run videos due to the stable frame rate rule that got added in Beat The Game.
#Level Leaderboard
- Added ILs for Sonic and Super Sonic.
- Added 'This board is for Sonic only' to Sky Fortress 1 and Special Stages ILs.
- Added rules for Sonic ILs.
- Added rules for Super Sonic ILs.
- Sorted out the IL videos due to the pausing rule.
- Sorted out the IL videos due to the stable frame rate rule.
#Website
- Added the Sonic 4: Episode 2 board from The Sonic Center in case people want more competition as a website.
#Resources
- Added Bluestacks and Anti-Micro to Resources.
#Game
- Shortened the game name so it looks easier to read on the main page.
- Updated to a better url name
- Fixed the twitch name.
- Updated the game cover.
- Added Android and iOS under platforms.
- This is now under mobile as game type.

The category will only be added if we have some runs already. This is so that we don't end up with empty boards, which has happened a few times.

Regarding your post me and other mods will be updating the rules when we can to reflect this. If there are any changes made to a game, it's always announced in the Sonic Speedrunning Community discord in it's respective channel. In the past I have made announcements on the forums, but from past experience not a lot of people check them. So it might be best to join the discord to keep an eye out for these announcements. I'll continue to make the posts on game changes in the forums just to be safe though.
Since Sonic 2 (2013) has it, can Sonic 1 (2013) have the mobile game type added please?

That would be because I haven't had the time to add them yet as I am dealing with 70+ other games on the site, irl stuff and practicing for an upcoming marathon. It'll be done when it's done.
