I've added Heroes campaign categories now! @ChiZensei @RFMX
That's a neat tool. I think either method is reasonable but we can start using this more often, and when times are in question I'll use this for the best accuracy.
I like your solution. I took a look at some IL runs using the above definitions for the exact frame of start and finish, and 2.4 seconds seems very accurate to me. I will update the ILs description to make this clear.
I'd like to request becoming a moderator of https://www.speedrun.com/flat_heroes. The only current moderator, https://www.speedrun.com/user/Cl0wnslayer/info, has not handled a pending submission for over a month, and furthermore, was last online 7 months ago. Their linked media includes Twitch (not responding), Twitter (DM's closed), Youtube (deleted), Discord (not responding), Steam (not accepting friend request), and website (dead link). Since Flat Heroes has undergone significant changes since any other runs, I would also like to update the leaderboard rules (according to RFMX's comments here: https://www.speedrun.com/flat_heroes/thread/3vhx2). If given moderator status, I could update them myself.
The current rules (for the level leaderboard) say "Waves mode, use the speedrun option. Timer goes off ingame timer." Waves mode no longer exists, and neither does the speedrun option, which means there is no in-game timer to go off of anymore.
I'll be submitting a run for World 4 in Campaign mode, with time based on the video (where the starting condition is when you gain control in the first level, and the ending condition is when the boss shatters, exactly as in the old speedrun option). I recommend the rules get updated accordingly.
