It doesn’t really appear visually that well, but from what I’m seeing, it sounds like Any Difficulty would be Friendly Neighborhood-Spectacular, and Ultimate would be... you know.
So, I haven’t done a run of this game yet, but I am planning on it after I replay Story Mode, since it’s been at least 5 years since I’ve played this game. I wanted to go ahead and ask if any knows any strats for this game I can learn? Thanks
Oh yeah, he also misspelled Cooking Mama with "C***ing Mama". IDK if this was on purpose or not, though.
I have been doing research on Kyle13, the Russian runner + current 5 Recipe WR holder (unverified). What I have found so far is this: In Candy Apple (0:16), the title did not have a fade in, like it normally would. In my run (0:27), you can see that there is a fade in. Also, I don't really have proof of this, but loading screens may be faster. Anyway, point is, I would like the mods to take a good look at his run please, I will also take a look at his run and compare it to mine.
@BlueChimp I also use DESmuME, but only because I don't have a physical copy of the game yet
@Cmaster25 the way it works Is that copies from Europe are normally PAL, copies from America are normally NTSC-U, and copies from Japan are normally NTSC-J. Some versions have big differences, like for example, the NTSC-J of Super Punch Out has a faster Dizzy on Rick Bruiser than the NTSC-U version.
oof, I found on Discord, you just have to scroll up a bit in the Announcements page
i was wondering if i could be a verifier. i have been a long time Cooking Mama fan, and i can withstand watching runs that are multiple hours long. i wouldn't want to be a mod, because that would be asking too much. thanks in advance, please answer back soon :)
i would believe so, seeing how its another way of having visual proof for your run
@Cmaster25 thanks, I will still order the copy though, but just because i want to start doing full game runs :) when it gets here, i will report what i find so we can have 2 sides of research, because seeing how you are from Germany, I would believe that you would use a PAL version of CM2, while my copy will be an NTSC-U. this would bring a 30 frame difference if that is true, plus the 3DS may bring different results from the regular DS as well. that way, we can fully break down every thing we may need to help decide if we should separate the emu and ds as different leaderboards.
i don't know how that would work with CM2, because I play CM3 a lot, and you need to get gold on recipes to unlock more recipes. interesting idea though, it could work with a 100% file now that I think about it.
@Cmaster25 i just wanted to see what advantages and disadvantages we could take apart, like click speed and accuracy. Another idea I have is that emulators may or may not be more accurate with mics than an actual DS would. I don't know how to set up a mic with my emulator, though, so we would need someone else's help with that.
today i ordered a copy of CM2, so when it gets here, i will do some experiments and see what advantages and disadvantages we can rule out for emu vs ds.
I mean as someone who uses an emulator for this, I agree, they are quite overpowered, especially with Burn a Pie, seeing how you can jitterclick better with a mouse than with a pen.
Is there ever going to be a leaderboard for every individual recipe? Like an IL section or something
