yeah, I thought they were a bit weird. thanks for clarifying a bit, though. appreciate it

I'm thinking about running the game myself, but I do have a few questions about the Gacha RNG. First, if you get a starter character, are you allowed to use them before you unlock them? (e.g. if I get Kaeya before unlocking him in the temple, am I allowed to use him before I've completed the temple?)

Second, if you get a constellation for a character that you are allowed to use (except the traveler of course), am I correct in assuming you are not allowed to activate them?

Finally, the rules state that weapons obtained from the Gacha are not allowed. I can guess this means the 5-star and 4-star weapons, but does this also include 3-star weapons like Cool Steel and Sharpshooter's Oath or not?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my questions

I think it would be fun, but sadly limited to just one platform. People on PS4 and Xbox One, to my knowledge, can't join in on the 'fun' that would be Cheat%. And with the rules, I'm with Reloe here. I think mission skips and Taxi's would be pointless, as some mod menus allow for teleportation to a waypoint or removing wanted levels. If you want to suggest Cheat%, I personally recommend you impose rules such as no teleporting to waypoint or removing wanted level via mod menu. or, even better, suggest 2 categories: Cheat% and Mod%. Cheat% would consist of the in-game cheats (made by Rockstar), which allows Console players to join in as well, and Mod% which would consist of games with mod menus etc.

every time you finish a race in one of these 3 categories, you earn credits. after the race, GL usually tries to stuff an ad down your throat so you can earn a lot more credits. but with a double credits boosters, that screen goes away. it's costly, yes. but it also saves an additional click. probably around 0.2-0.5 seconds per race, but in a full season it really adds up

ok, I'll upload it shortly then. I honestly didn't expect to get a time that fast, hence why I didn't record it normally. anyway, you should receive my submission within 2 hours because my internet is Pepega

so, I've recently pulled a time at Austria that would get me third on the leaderboards here (1:03.424). thing is, I didn't record the lap when I actually did it, I only have a recording from after the session, and with race broadcast as camera. is this still allowed according to the rules? The rules only state that corner cutting exploits aren't allowed and that the game must see the time as valid, or your run isn't allowed (these rules are the only ones I'm concerned about). my run is following both these rules, but doesn't have onboard with all telemetry and stuff (not recorded whilst actually doing the lap), whilst the other runs do. please get back to me as soon as possible, so I will know if I can upload it or not

so, the rules for hard% state the following:

-Safety Car and Parc Ferme must be turned on

Parc Ferme is not a problem, as you can leave that on regardless of the amount of laps in a race. the problem lies with the Safety Car. you see, the SC can only be turned on on 25%+ race distance. does this mean we have to do a run on 25% distance, or do we leave the SC off?

Hi again.

it's been a long time. I plan to do a few more F1 2019 speedruns before I say goodbye to this game for good, but I'd like to make a PSA about my speedruns. due to the video proof being uploaded on my account for school, and me transferring schools due to finding the school better, I no longer have access to that youtube account. therefore, even though my current speedruns will stay under the same channel, this will change for any future speedruns I do. so, even though the speedruns I've done will stay visible, future speedruns will be submitted to a diffrent channel of mine.

Sorry for making this so confusing to understand, but I still wanted to say this, as I do plan to do at least 1 more speedrun on this game (like I said earlier this post)

Cheers. YoloMN001

good luck explaining to people that that isn't against TOS, but is an actualt speedrunning category. even if it were going to happen, I don't think it would change the amount of active runners we have at the moment

Since F1 2020 is just around the corner, I am wondering if the moderators of this game will continue to moderate the F1 2020 leaderboards should that come to exist. and if it will exist, will it be the same format at this year's game? or will it be just like F1 2017's leaderboard?

in any case, I just want to thank Tielqt and Kw1q51lv3r_Vorian for moderating this year's game, as well as everyone who submitted a run (any% or something else) as well as, I will be doing one more speedrun of this game in a day or two, before I say goodbye to this game forever/a very long time.

again, thanks mods for moderating this year's game and thanks everyone who ran the game for making the leaderboards expanded. cheers!

it should be possible via the video settings, but I have never personally checked to see if it's at all possible, so I'm not 100% sure on that. and since my files got corrupted, I need to re-download the game again, so I can't check right now. but it should be possible

what you can do best, I think, is decide together on what car you want to use, make sure that one person has a championship done to, say, 50% of the championship and then you do one half of it and your friend does the other half. so long as you can see that A. it's one segment (no editing) and B. you guys know how to do this, I don't see a problem. then again, I'm no mod either, so I'm not 100% sure

Again, so long as the stream is single-segmented, personally, I don't see a problem

thread: F1 2019

The run must be done from the championship menu, as it states in the rules. as for the perspective question, I have no clue. but the reason behind the championship rule is because of dynamic weather. the 1st run that did this could have raced in a full wet race (I didn't fully see the video as it's 40 hours long) and would therefor be unfair if all races were dry.

The thing that makes me unsure about your main question, is the fact that the rules say that you are 'allowed to use any camera perspective.' how this would work with streaming another person's stream, I have no clue. I hope for you either Kw1q or tielqt replies, because I really have no idea aside from the 'GP or Championships?' question

Michael% would just be a shorter version of Trevor%. Since we already have Trevor% (which is around 1/6th the length of a full run) it would be pointless to instate a Michael%, as it would just be around 30 minutes long at it's longest. I hope this clarifies the reason behind the fact that there is no Michael%, and I hope people with Brain Farts will NOT ask this again. Christ alive...

OK, the testing was QUITE difficult, but I did make it happen.

the tough part was getting Elesa to hit the EXACT same style as me. After testing, I found that it is slower by 0.32 seconds (without any smashes) WITH Smashes, however, it IS faster to let the AI serve. With 3 smashes and 1 normal hit, letting the AI serve is around 0.13 quicker, surprisingly. (if they return the ball, that is) so, if you have good luck with AI Smashes, it can save some time. I couldn't get them to smash ALL the hits, but after testing for around 15 minutes, my attention span ran dry

for people wondering how I timed it: I started the timer as soon as I hit 'Single Game' and I stopped the timer upon the final '2nd bounce' message. if you think the timing is incorrect, feel free to try testing it yourself

I've indeed seen that the CPU's take a little longer than a human player to take the serve. the thing is, you need some pretty mediocre to high luck for the CPU to return your smashes. I've played against Elesa, and she had a little trouble returning those smashes. and before you ask, Elesa had a skill level of 2000. I will need to do some actual testing outside of my thought process, but for now I don't think it's out of the question... I'll post here later on with my findings. I will use livesplit, but I can't record it since I don't own a Capture card and I don't like uploading content that was made sh*tty (like recording a screen with a camera)

So, I've been experimenting on Wii sports tennis to practice for a Losing All Sports run, and I think I found a new possible strat. When your Mii's are on the left side, you have to serve the ball. However, if you put your Mii's on the RIGHT side, the CPU's get to serve, meaning, in theory, you can lose the game faster and more consistent.

From there, you just have to start a game and do nothing except hit A to skip replays. Will this strat be allowed? And if so, do we allow it before the run starts, or (instead of starting by hitting 'Single Game') do we start the timer when we hit our Mii's?

honestly, I think it's the right move to be able to filter by team, to see if the Mercs are indeed dominant. even though I like the SpCore car more than the top teams, most runs have been completed with said top teams. and the first use I can think of using this system, is (of course) the Any% category, but also the Level leaderboard. Sure, the Mercedes is dominant for most of the season, but in, say, Italy, the Ferrari could be better due to the faster engine. and Red Bull might be faster on Brazil. It's a great addition. I hope you guys continue to mod the leaderboard the way you were doing up to this point: great.

[Edit towards @SeynySVK ] The length is not fixed. most runners will do the least amount of laps required, but you are free to do 25% races over the run if you want, so long as the run is a single-segment. and if you are talking about time, that depends on your skill level and on what control type you use

Utrecht, NetherlandsYoloMN0013 years ago

OK, so I've tested it for the 5th time now, and for the 5th time in a row, my footage got corrupted. keeping in mind that I'm not a speedrunner of this game (yet), the route is, in theory, faster. the problem arises with the scripted truck that appears when you exit the movie studio. this blocks the green path off, forcing you to take the blue path. overall, I've found it to not be worth it, since the scripted truck is a thing (the same kind that you use in the jewelry store heist.) if a more experienced runner can test this and can find it to be faster, by all means it's a faster strat. but as of now, it's game over for that route

Utrecht, NetherlandsYoloMN0013 years ago

The link works. Regarding the route, if there would be any, time save could be inconsistent. since, to my knowledge, no one has tested that route yet, we don't know fixed spawns for peds in that area. hitting one or more would, I think, negate the time save. Then again, because this has never been tested, we will need to know. I will test (and record) it later today, and link the video here to show the route in real time.
