All blobs around Kraid have a secondary protection after being hit the first time. Either it's an additional collision or a specific check for diffusion damage. In any case it looks like extra checks to make sure you cannot get through without diffusion.

(also you don't actually need to morph in that tight space - the dash melee aim can shoot through chimney walls by itself)

And like all major bosses Kraid gets scooped up by the X once they are released. That's why he's gone.

Now that I've figured out a decent strategy, the progress stuff is gone from the tracker (beyond naming splits).

Got a specific sub to observe that?

The r/speedrun background colour is there before anything else loads for me (I never see white, even on a cache reload).

edit: eh, forgot about the scrollbar thing - would need a page without the long sidebar ...

edit: zooming out a certain amount and full screen do the trick, I can get the flashing white background that way

Resizing on every page load is not exactly a viable option. You still load into a burning white page. And it's a small one without scrollbar, so you likely won't stay long anyway.

I've now changed a background to a single colour slow scrolling repeated pixel.

It still flashes white at you on page load. X|

Is there a chrome issue tracker entry for this somewhere? I can't find it.

There be TAS': If you look at the tools section or my first submitted run, you'll notice that there is an overlay that doesn't only track time, but progress as well.

In hindsight I'm not too proud of that, but then again the runs I've done without that before weren't nearly as fun (spending an additional hour figuring out what to do next - granted I didn't know a few unlock details either).

I expect that I will eventually not need it and be faster just ploughing through rather than checking the list. But I figured this isn't only more interesting to watch, but also makes verification easier. Not to mention I cannot make sure you aren't running such tracking outside of the recorded video, so I'll stick to allowing and actually preferring it on the video.

If you are interested getting into this quickly, I've got a solutions and an unlock guide up on steam.

There is plenty more investigating to be done for the route. Some things can unlock together, others don't (these things might see updates though, if reported). Maybe there are ways to manipulate the randomisation. I've already found a few puzzle solutions that are shorter than the game asks of you for a perfect rating. However some actions do take more time than others, possibly making longer solutions effectively faster. But before that it's probably more important to figure out dungeon layouts and where to go.

I'm also considering 100% dungeon only runs (starting out with a finished story and no unlocks), because the two story acts take quite a lot of time, don't do any achievement progress and aren't too interesting due to being entirely linear. But I'm not sure about that yet.
