The jump was pretty consistent when hit from a diagonal.
I wasn't going to share this until I did it in a run but I don't think I will continue running this game. In chapter 3 after you go to the up to see you need the key instead of going down the stairs again you go around the top until you reach a gap. If you jump correctly then you are able to go across that gap. It will save a few seconds.
Yes I went through and manually timed the loads.
chaotic911's time of 1:22:02 w/o loads is around 1:19:47. Xerlan's (me) time of 1:22:24 w/o loads is around 1:20:06. I tried my best but it still might be slightly inaccurate. The difference between the times was actually 19 seconds instead of 22 and the run has made it to under 1:20 w/o loads, (I'm still confused though how you were 19 seconds faster, did you do anything special?)
I recently resubmitted my old run to have the video be on youtube and I now have the previous record of 1:22:24. I'll start running again to compete with you my good sir!
Well the dialogue is integrated into the game but if we can find places to clip out it would make the game so much faster and more fun to run because the waiting gets really boring sometimes.
I want to do some glitch hunting but i can't find any way to get a client where I can noclip and test walls. If anyone has one I want to do a ton of testing in chapter 3 because I feel like there's a way to get to the alpha door at the beginning earlier and to clip out during the long vault door sequence. I've already found a way to clip the camera out of bounds but if I can see what collisions look like I feel like we could lower the time by many minutes.
Nice, are you going to submit your runs to the leaderboard or or have you already? It's nice to see someone else running!
I have absolutely no idea if this is useful but I was able to move through the vent with my head outside of it. https://www.twitch.tv/dandan179/clip/UgliestYawningTitanResidentSleeper
Also wondering what is the best version to run the game?
Hello, I'm Xerlan and I have recently picked up Close to the Sun via Epic. I decided it would be fun the speedrun this fairly simplistic game. I did a "practice run" yesterday and got a 1:37:XX for a first run with no practice or tech. It was full of mistakes and time waste that I can fix in future runs. Since I'm new here are there any tips/tech I should know for running in the future.
im here to speedrun some of the dumbest stuff i can think of.
