There should be a 100% category, which includes the Double Combine quest and the RAGE token/Raging Demon quest.
There should also be subcategories for the three difficulties: Casual, Normal, and Hardcore.
Hello all. I don't run this game, but I found a very small time-saving glitch that I haven't seen anywhere else. I wonder if this is new? Basically, manually exiting cutout mode with Y right as you jump onto the flag makes Mario go to the location, but without the "Found the solution!" jingle that normally plays, allowing control maybe about 1 second earlier. This seems to work on every flag that I have tested so far.
Related to this is a pointless non-time saving audio glitch that I also haven't seen anywhere else. If you hit the save block in The Crimson Tower right before the Morton fight, then close and reboot your game, if you mash Y right when you get control over Mario, you can hear both The Crimson Tower's music and the Cutout music at the same time.
One other thing that probably isn't even a glitch but looks weird: If you hammer a spiny in Kiwano Temple with the Super Star active, the animation of it flying away looks a little delayed. It's amusing.
Well, that's all, I hope you can put this to use somewhere...
Hello all. While I don't speedrun this game, I love doing all of the sequence breaks the game offers, and so I've been looking for some of my own.
Here is an interesting glitch I found. It doesn't seem to do much on its own, but maybe it could be applied to other gates in the game that behave this way?
For reference I did this right after defeating the yellow emmi.
I hope this discovery can help with something, since I don't recall seeing any glitch like this before. At the very least it gets you one Missile Tank early.
I've been looking at IL leaderboards in many games, and I noticed that all of them are significantly less crowded than the full-game categories, to the point where sometimes there's only 2 submitted runs per IL. Some games don't even have an IL leaderboard. Why is it like this? I personally would choose IL's over a full-game run any day.
Heyo, I'm Snarky Sceptile, but just "Snarky" or "Sceptile" works too. I used to despise the idea of speedrunning, but it slowly started interesting me recently. I like the idea of IL's, and I plan on doing some of those in the games I enjoy most, the 3D Mario platformers. I'm not great at speedrunning yet, but I hope to get better as time goes on.
