Alright, I checked, and the second-place runner uses a AAK in the start of his run. Honestly, I think we should allow it for glitchless. Playing mario combat without AAK would be like playing American Ninja Warrior on a wheelchair. Its not really a "glitch" either, since its just a kind of mechanic that, although broken, is still kind of just a part of the game.

Think about bunnyhopping in source games - bunnyhopping (in whatever form it takes) usually is allowed, even in the glitchless categories (I.E. Half Life 2). Its more of a "trick" than it is a "glitch".

So, just take out all the other glitches, allow AAK

AAK Accelerated Arial Kick

Zipping sounds kinda lame, so I think this would work best.

Hi I wanted to open up discussion about which website should be the standard for speedrunning I currently am doing my runs at some strange website called http://mariocombat.info/ I wanted to know if anyone else used other websites An interesting thing to note is that with the (now taken down) new world record, there was a wall that the runner clipped through that I myself could not find I don't know if this is a sort of version difference or a result of the doctoring. This made me ask the question of whether or not we should find a standard site to do all our speedrunning in, and I wanted to bring this question up to the 3 people still playing this game. thanks

What do you mean by "Defocusing"? If you mean ctrl-tabbing, then yea, that's what I mean. You can use that in conjunction with the skip to the 2nd wall-jump section (that I never figured out how to do) to save a good amount of time. It's actually quite consistent, though - it's about timing the ctrl-tab at the right moment. If defocus refers to some other obscure term, though, I'm not sure what you mean. Also, if there are grammatical mistakes in any of my posts, i apologize. Grammarly isn't working well for me.

I was playing on a school laptop one day just for fun when i realized that I was getting more clips than usual. The framerate was about the same for both, but I didnt have to ctrl-tab to get through the first wall-jump section, which usually takes extremely precise movement-except i was getting the clip every time. I tried the game on my friend's "computer" (gets the same framerate on a browser as a rock would) and I litterally could NOT get through the wall-jump section without clipping through a wall. This begs the question - is clipping easier with computers that have worse specs?

*(Note: For some reason, I cant instantly ctrl-tab in the elevator area and must walk close to the elevator itself to perform the skip. When I tried the elevator skip on a school laptop, it worked just fine. My school laptops have 1.8 ghz processors and stock intel graphics cards, while I have a 3.5 ghz processor and a gtx 1050 ti. This makes sense, since clipping on ALL entities would be made easier, not just the clipping on Mario, making the elevator skip easier.)

I found a definitive way to skip the second wall-jump section. This method isn't theoretical or only achievable by a TAS, but its a fully functioning, working method that can save about 3 seconds if done right. Ill show it off in my next speed run and post a guide on how to perform it. I'm shooting for a sub-50 on my next run.

The only problem is, I'm not 100% sure it can be done without going to the platform to the right of the wall-jump section. If you can do it without doing that, I think you could save a bit of time, although I personally haven't done it. In one of my submitted runs, I think I actually pulled it off from the platform to the right.

There's one kinda obsolete one that might actually be useful In stage 2, if instead of clipping through the wall in the final part of the level (the second wall-jump part), you go the platform that you would normally use if you were playing without glitches, if you do a jump-kick correctly, you can go to the top of the wall-jump section and skip the wall-jump. It takes a while to pull it off but its there.

Happens sometimes and there is a way to get there without the glitch, but that cant really help a speedrun.

Ok i just found something out On the third stage (the one before the elevator) you can do a small skip that allows you to save a slight bit of time If you time a jump just right, you can clip through the platform (the one supported by 2 pillars where you first start) and teleport through them so, yea, that's pretty nifty. I don't think that this will be used that much as the time saved isn't that high and it's a difficult trick to pull off, but its there.

I want a list of all the skips known. Here is a list of skips I discovered so far: In the second stage, you can skip the wall-jump sections if you land a jump-kick right The elevator skip The one outside if you land a jump-kick just right at a platform, boosting you up risky Are there any more I missed?
