EnglandHello everyone! As many of you may be here due to our World 1 Speedrun Contest, I thought you'd like to know we have now confirmed our winners...
I have retimed the first 11 places on the speedrun.com leaderboard to be sure. For avoidance of any contention, I alone used a consistent retiming method, using Avidemux to set the exact starting and end frame for each run. First frame placement was the frame before the screen began to fade to white/when the paw print loading icon began to fade in. Last frame placement was when the continue button first appears. You were all actually really spot on with your timings, with only milliseconds changed on any of these runs.
Big thanks to Trash_Bandatcoot + VeryLukely for looking over the clips with me to verify runs during the contest, and today to check for any explicit cheating, splitting, looking over the audio, checking for any obvious alts for double placements, etc.
So! After all that, accounting for my retimings, our 1st to 10th place prize winners are below! No surprises, as placements did not change after retiming...

Oh yeah, absolutely - sorry, a long-time speedrun viewer, newbie to actual community stuff kinda guy here haha! Figured that not having to do a fresh save file for the world 1 comp would be easier, but the rules for Any% etc is very much up to the community!
(Suuuuper excited to start seeing full game runs after this is all over btw!)
Hey hey! Just clarifying some rules then, which I'll clarify on the rules site too:
- No new save is needed, I figured refreshing a save every run would get annoying. So if you casually unlock all the levels in world 1 first, that is probably the best way of running it
- Intention is to play the standard level modes - mostly because of the boss, as has been mentioned, but I think the fruit adding to the level end screen is a nice extra layer
- For results screen, it'll be when the "Continue" button appears - this allows to account for the fruit count
Apologies for lack of clarity on those bits - first time running something of this calibre, figured I'd end up missing some of the smaller points aha!
