Hey everyone!

I'm beginning to learn the PS2/NA category for X-2, and was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on the Shuyin fight.

I seem to only get Rikku/Paine back to Dark Knight in time before Terror of Zanarkand about half the time, and when I don't, I can't seem to recover (either they're too weak as a gunner/songstress to survive Shuyin's attack, or they can't support Paine).

I've noticed that stopping ATB during their DS transitions doesn't really buy me any time, and the only consistent strat I've discovered is performing firaga's in between DS changes. This still feels like a coin flip to me tho, and I'd rather not gamble my runs to a fight that I may not be understanding correctly.

I appreciate any help that you have!

LMAO you beat me to it, Z.

It was a sobering experience...

Main: No S+Q, S+Q, 100%, Any% Misc: AI, RBO, Hombre%, Legacy, All Inventory

I have a long list of categories I'd like to see in Misc to be honest; I think that inclusion and subsequent addition to this section should be fairly liberal. As for the Main group, I'm pretty serious about keeping that section concise (i.e. obvious things such as hundo and any%, as well as categories considered the "main" ones by any runner).

I see what you mean GT, and now that I consider ¤why¤ we're mostly averse to duping, I can't help but agree that 26 seashells would have to be considered a part of the completion.

I'll have to agree with both Seabass and Zorlax, for much the same reasons.

Is it possible that the quick time events will move faster depending on how fast the player mashes the inputs? If so, this segment could widely vary by hundredths, maybe even TENTHS of seconds. A timesave like that could never be ignored.

I realize that a lot of discussion has arisen over this topic, so I figure there ought to be a forum post discussing the pros and cons of making 75% be the main category.

Now, first off, the Pimp's Quest community takes these rules very seriously. This is no place for memes, jokes, jeers, jabs, or tom-foolery of any kind. I'd like participants to remain civil at all times.

Pros of 75%:

Removes the first 30 or so seconds of the old route, which tend to be the same from run to run.

Cons of 75%:

Don't get to hear the silly dialogue.

Thanks for the links, Aulos. It seems like this method is just a modification of the one in Flynn's video, as they have similar success rates (about 60/40). The positioning in my video is riskier because it doesn't leave any room for failure, and the outcome seems to be somewhat RNG based (although a part of me wants to believe that the RNG can be manipulated through inputs/timing). I'll definitely keep working on this.

In retrospect, I don't think I tested this method enough before drawing conclusions.

For more reference here's the same thing on Bizhawk. Sorry for the poor quality, but hopefully you can sort of get an idea for my timing. I'm also curious whether or not the 'red' frames have anything to do with the outcome. They only occur during the transition periods, so this could be a factor.

Hey all, here's a potential set up for ICS. It seems as though LA buffers commands differently depending on how you leave the S+Q screen. Basically what I'm doing is buffering B+Map+Left in quick succession as the screen is white-ing out of the S+Q menu. It seems vital that the map and left buttons are pressed ¤during¤ the white-out. The method relies on Link's tile placement (which is a bit wonky across instruments, so I figured I'd document the D4 room first...because of reasons.... :P), as well as the 'rhythm' you input the commands.

I don't have a program to show my inputs, so I'll look into that to provide further clarity.

This is still super shaky, but as long as it's documented I figure this could be of use.

You could call it ZoLT: Gninekawa S'knil.

I like the idea of permitting OoB in the name of making RBO possible. Or honestly a "nearly" RBO sounds fun too lol. D8 to D3 in descending order, then D1 and D2 to finish.

Blind racing either/both would be fun.

Reverse boss order? Not sure if it's been suggested yet.

So I tried my hand at Tompa's puzzle as well, and made a vid with some highlights. It's a great challenge! I found out that bomb's are a bit of a premium with those conditions haha.
