lol came upon this thread of a guy saying that I was cheating in my run. Seeing as though you're already on the forum, you could have gone a few posts down and saw this thread http://www.speedrun.com/infamous2/thread/98omd that talked about this exact topic. I didn't get any answer against it so I submitted the run using the faster strat and it was accepted. After the run was already verified, the rule was changed a bit after (maybe 2-3 weeks later?) to specify all good karma missions, though now I see that there is a separate no karma specification category so the mods listened to your suggestion. Anyways, to answer your question, the reason why the mods accepted my run is because it didn't violate any rules that were in place at the time, simple as that.

Just finished this hack casually and it's so good that I wanted to look into running it. I noticed that the rules say "no debug patch". The only debug patch I know of is 0.93, but the runner is playing on 0.91, so will I need that patch instead? Thanks

imo an issue with competitive ILs as practice for learning any% would be that you can just grind to max karma/xp before every mission for an ideal IL, which doesn't really align with the actual run

I've actually done a run of the demo, too, believe it or not. I started it at "press start" and ended once "inFAMOUS 2" shows up during the last mission.

If there's actually interest in this maybe it could be a misc/meme category?

Checking the rules for GK 100%, and the exact wording there is:

"Beat the game, selecting all Good Karma missions where applicable, and also:

• All Blast Shards
• All Dead Drops
• All Powers¤
• All Good Karma side missions
• All Secondary Missions¤¤

¤ There's no need to buy or unlock all the powers, since you may not get enough XP to do so. ¤¤ There are secret missions, you have to make sure the red barriers in the map are gone. To get this secret missions, you have to kill enemies inside those red barriers when there are no secondary missions left."

So, all powers are required, but there is also no need to buy or unlock all of the powers? Which one is it? I understand that XP farming would be really boring to do in the middle of the run so I can see why it wouldn't be required, but I just want to clarify that it is indeed the case that not all powers are required and I'm not missing something. Obviously biased, but I think it's a lot of little quirks in the strats that make this game interesting, like when to use ice grenades vs sticky grenades vs rockets, and managing electricity based on the situation... that, and the fact that I loved the game casually. It's one of those games that's a lot about just playing the game well, and not so much you overpowering the game. The only real notable skip to this point is SHL.

If that doesn't sound appealing to you then this probably isn't your game. Though, you'll probably notice a big difference between your blind run and a run with some of these strats if you decide to go for the sub 4!

I'm watching Aly's stream right now and she chooses "BOOM!" (evil karmic mission) to save Kuo instead of the really annoying one with freeing the cops while running on good. When I asked, Aly said that "Good Karma" and "Evil Karma" as category names only reflect the ending, which makes sense... but on Sanju's vods I saw before I started running the game, he went all side missions reflecting the category karma. Just want to get a consensus and make sure this is legal so I don't get on the grind for a peanut butter doing this and then find out my run's invalid. Thanks
