We're not really sure why there is two versions of the speedglitch. The breakable one seems to appears more often when you're playing with 30 FPS, at least for me. Otherwise, no idea. Be sure to restart the game if you die trying to get it. And cross your fingers.
Yeah actually that was found by me, and it's not reset friendly. I mean that if you leave the game, the spot won't be as safe as it was before after the reboot.
Still a decent spot, but not 100% consistent.
We haven't accepted it in the end. We found that if you get ragdoll and die you lose the ability to get the glitch. So if your timing is right, you can get the glitch more consistenly by not dying during the tries.
Well, It's like using the bomb to damage boost yourself in Ocarina of time, they use it during jump to have a supplementary boost. It's also used in the glitchless category.
It's intended by the dev, but not in "that" way, but still legit.
Talking after being shoot is intended by the dev, but not during dialogue.
But that's just my opinion, I'm not planning to run the game in glitchless anyway.
I tried doing DC > Virgil, it's kinda 30s slower than doing Fort Hagen > Virgil. The route is more dangerous, more rads also. It wasn't optimized tho, but it's still slower.
But with a slide working decently to go to FH, it would still be faster.
That's stupid, random, probably hardware dependant. But that's a thing.
You need to sprint and mash quicksave before hitting the wall. Only manage to do it here for the moment. Not sure if there any other places where it would be useful. You need either a corner or a very flat wall to do that.
Maybe there could be a way to make it easier with object, skyrim like, but for the moment, it wasn't efficient for me.
You will tell me if it's working only for me or not.
Well, shooting people and triggering a dialogue is allowed by the game, you're just not supposed to do that when a dialogue is already occuring.
But if it's programmed into the game, I'm not sure why it should be banned.
Hi everybody, sloppy_Jo and apparently some others people have noticed a way to make the glitch more consistent.
But, there is always a but, it's technically new game+
Let me explain :
You need to load a save, and get the glitch, I don't know if it works also with rocket launcher, but with fall damage it does. Once you got the glitch, you need to cripple yourself again to lose the glitch.
Then, you go back to the menu, and load your baby save and start you run. If everything went right, you'll get the glitch first try after exiting vault 101. Unless you quickload too late and kill yourself, then the glitch probably won't appear anymore.
So, technically, this is new game + and forbidden by the rules, BUT it's very convenient, and don't make the run any faster, just give a way to avoid the grind.
I think, actually by the rules, we can't allow it, and if we do, we need to put some heavy restrictions on it, otherwise some people might completely broke the game with other potential glitch.
Or, we create a new category/new variable.
How does it works? I'm not sure, it seems that getting the glitch is completely random from the launch of the game, either the game will allow you to get it, either not. So it might be a way to check faster if the glitch is "available" or not.
Anyway, we also need people to test it. If it's not possible on every system, then no point talking about it in the first place.
Yeah, dying from fall damage is a common occurence. Also, the "propulsion" thing seems to depend about what movement you have done before taking the loading zone.
Maybe it's not exactly the same on each computer.
Well, I found a way to use it :
I'm pretty sure there are other places where it could be useful.
Well, it's not like we should rule it, but just make it clear that it's faster to run in german.
People can run in whatever language they want in the end :)
You can play in Very easy, that's what we usually do in Fallout speedrun. Of course, I might be wrong.
Oh well, I guess it's time for me to start running it now. Great job, I think there are still many things we can find, but it's starting to get pretty fun.
To be honest, it's perfectly random. Getting the glitch, even if it's breakable, means that you understood the principe behind it.
Now, you'll just need luck!
I might be a bit late, but the flashbang scene not triggering is because of a bug happening sometimes with the GECK, when you grab it ( get the message box), but don't really grab it at the same time. It happen rarely, but you just need to load a previous save before you tried to get the GECK, and it should be alright
No need to start a fresh game.
