Emulator is definitely at a big disadvantage for this game with having to use the mouse. I tend to wonder if it's even possible, but I'd like to see it!

I also like the point @sYn brings up. I've made suggestions like this before to unify Any% categories on a board into a single category, but it didn't fly. I'd also be fine with keeping one Any% to rule them all and then allow people to filter how they want if people prefer that approach.

I agree on separating the two Any% categories since there are things in PAL that are simply not possible in NTSC (maybe vice versa?), just based upon the runs I've seen, and the runs are substantially different, so having another way to play Any% that would also "count" is very appealing to me.

Thanks! I was able to get Stage 5 to work not knowing that death was a requirement, but that makes sense now! Will have to adjust my Stage 1 route to get the death in there.

Not sure why I haven't noticed this until now, but I see that the top runs skip the timer countdown at the end of Stage 1 and again at the end of Stage 5. Any explanation on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

There’s something odd about seeing an LE2 run with someone playing LE2

I've never seen so few mods for such a highly played game. Lmk if you need help.

Did a NTSC 100% Deathless run tonight for fun during a decathlon. If there's interest in adding yet another category, I'm happy to submit this one to start it off. Here's the run in all its glory - .

I briefly used that strat after missing the red room jump to make up some time, but it was low percentage for me and I always had to pull back on one of the jumps. It saved me a second at best.

Rochester, NY, USAProfessorRetro1 year ago

@ShiningDragoon, that's definitely faster. The only problem is I'd have to go to Lapis first, which would work in 100%, but this run is also glitchless, so I don't think I'd be able to pull that off!

Everyone I know of plays PRG0 so you can jump off of bats. Not sure why that ability was removed in later versions. It seems as a community we’ve decided jumping off bats is a good thing and the forest bat skip is possible because of it so I wouldn’t call it a glitch.

Yeah, I was going to say that I think it would be a glitch because it allows you to make jumps that shouldn't be possible.

I'm interested in running the 100% damageless glitchless category during Rygtoberfest 2022 and it's pretty clear what you can't do (wrong warps, swag slides), but I'm not sure about airwalks. Any thoughts on if airwalks qualify as a glitch? Just want to make sure I don't invalidate a run.

As a compromise, would it be possible for all of the runs to be Any% and then we can select OoB (Yes/No) when submitting. There would then be a column indicating OoB Yes/No on those runs. You can easily filter based on if OoB is included or not in the run. Then everyone is on the same board but there's a distinction in the type of run. I believe Batman (NES) does this with the Joker Glitch (https://www.speedrun.com/batman_the_video_game_nes).

Several years back, the Any% category was introduced to a glitch called the Glasses Glitch that saved ~60 seconds over the WR prior to that glitch being discovered, so Any% wasn't glitchless at that point. The warp that I did could be called a glitch or out of bounds or many other things. I guess the question is does there need to be Any% Glitchless vs. Any% Glitched or do you differentiate glitches and say Any% and Any% No Major Glitches? What we have now is Any% where anything is allowed vs. No OoB where everything is allowed except the kind of thing I did. There's a lot of ways to do this, not sure what's the right way, but there's definitely been a new divide.

Tried the early platform, I keep getting hit by a waterfall when I try to jump onto the second platform!

My first completed run in the game was on a door to the right, but it wasn't particularly fast. Due to how rarely the coin appears in the middle door, I'm far too afraid to smash any door but the middle one!

It took me a little over a month, but I was able to complete a damageless run of Goonies II! . Hoping we can add a new category to the game for Any% Damageless!

I'm pretty sure that run was prior to the glasses glitch being implemented in runs. Good luck with the 100% runs!
