Hello! I would say a new page would need to be made, like how there's a speedrun.com page for "Hot Wheels: World Race", and a different page for "Hot Wheels: World Race (GBA)". We would need a "Hot Wheels: Velocity X (GBA)" page made.

Since this is your run, and no else has talked about running this game on speedrun.com before, would you like to request the game to be added to speedrun.com via this form? https://www.speedrun.com/support/tickets/new

If the game is accepted, which it very likely would be, then you will automatically be a mod on the game. Then, you will be able to set up the categories in the most logical and fair way you believe makes sense for the game. This would likely mean, at the very least, creating an "Any%" category where you play through the game on a fresh file and unlock better cars as you go, and also an "NG+ Any%" category where you beat the main campaign, but with all cars already unlocked, so you can use the best car from the start. Lastly, a 100% category could be added if you want. There could be more categories than just those, but those are always a good starting point. Once the game is accepted, you can add me as a mod if you need help with anything. Let me know if you have any questions!

Emulators are allowed (PCSX2, Dolphin, etc.). There are already a lot of different level runs that can be done (Drag Races, Joyrides, Missions), but I suppose it would make sense to add the Challenges. I'll go ahead and add them.

It appears that the new limited time Sephiroth Challenge mode tells you your IGT after you complete a round. Would this be considered to add as a category, even as just a minor category, or will this not be added, since it's limited time? Just throwing an idea.

Ah, I see what you're saying. I didn't know you could simply edit runs to move them to another category rather than have to delete them and submit them again. That helps a bit definitely.

Ok, good that it links to their profile. And yes, there is a major difference between gadgets on and off. Gadgets being on and off is a setting that can be changed for races, whereas in Joyrides gadgets are always on, so there would be permanent blank space for Joyride gadgets off, because it doesn't exist. Here is a mockup I did: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11HkahYNiL38RZMhF-W-02nhXio2vjlae/view?usp=sharing That's what the whole board would look like. Is that the best way to do it? Thanks.

To remove a lot of blank space and to make the leaderboards make sense here https://www.speedrun.com/hwvx/individual_levels , I will need to delete an entire column: the "Gadgets Off" column and turn the "Gadgets On" column into simply "Individual Levels" to simplify everything, making it just an "Individual Levels" column with a lot of rows. I've read that there is no way to "move" runs, so apparently I unfortunately will have to delete all of the runs in the "Gadgets Off" column and resubmit them in the "Individual Levels" column that may be made. When I am submitting the runs that were previously on the boards and I set the player's name as the corresponding username to who submitted it in the past, will it link to their profile and everything? Or will it just show up as simple text?

Just was curious about the speedrunning scene for this game, and I’m blown away that there aren’t individual minigame speedruns for the ones that you can, like you said. Please add this, it would be awesome! Thank you.

I’m just posting here to show my support for some sort of ScareScraper solo categories. With how long this game is, it could definitely use some shorter categories, and ScareScraper fits the bill; this would also somewhat increase interest in the game, by not having the only categories being long ones. Yes, there would be quite the RNG elements attached to it all, however, because there’s so much RNG, it really means that the player’s skill gets tested on many fronts. Also, mentally there would be a lot going on, like “Should I take a bit of time hoping to find an upgrade, or finish off the floor?” or things like “Should I open these doors in case there’s a necessary key there, or just go for it?” I think it would be interesting. Also, as an extra, there could be high score categories added for ScareScraper, and you input the leaderboard time as what your score was. I’ve seen some games utilize high score leaderboards, but that’s only a bonus; the main priority being ScareScraper speedruns.

Could we get those Joyride ILs added? It would probably look something like Joyride: Monument City, etc. I have a very fast Monument City Joyride that I will be uploading regardless. If the category is added, the timing should start when you hit Enter to make the pop-up box disappear. (A box pops up in every Joyride at the start that says what you have collected, so you can wait on that screen as long as you want, and then when you hit Enter the timing starts). This would also make the category the same for all console versions and the PC version, because there are no load screens involved. I highly suggest this. If you don’t feel like doing this, you can appoint me as a mod and I will add them.

Could my two IL runs get verified? Must’ve slipped by the mods somehow.

If you have Windows, download the program "DxWnd". It allows you to run games that are always forced to fullscreen, in windowed mode. That should allow you to be able to record it without issues if it goes the way I think it will. Mess around with DxWnd and HWWR and OBS and tell me how it goes. Good luck.

Yeah I agree, it'd be nice to have Joyride collectibles, Missions, and Challenges as their own ILs.

Okay, so I agree with you. I think that the best course of action would be to just make a 100% (Cheats) misc. category, so that my 100% run isn't wasted. I don't know if it's possible to do this, but it would be preferred if you could somehow move my 100% run to 100% (Cheats) if that's possible. If you can't move the run, then just tell me you're gonna just delete it and I'll submit that same run to the new 100% (Cheats) category. Then in the near future I'll do an actual 100% run. (Also, in the rules for 100% (Cheats), make sure to say that cheats are allowed, and in the 100% category, change the rules to say that cheats aren't allowed, and we'll be good!)

Ok, I'll think about what I have to say about this, I do see your post and I'll give my feedback on this idea in a couple days.

I believe PC and emulator are different. If you have a physical HWVX disc that you put into your PC and play, then you just have the PC version. If someone wanted to submit a run of HWVX on an emulator, they would select what version of the game they are emulating (PC, GameCube, or PS2) and then check the "emulator" box. I'm pretty sure that's what someone would have do.

You know how the rules on NG+ Any% say that you can use cheats? Well, I noticed that in your (srakso99's) NG+ Any% runs you never use cheats. This made me realize something, though. I think that there should be a new run category added called, "NG+ Any% (Cheats)". This would make more diversity in how a person would want to run the game. I personally like to run NG+ Any%, but with cheats (my current run on the leaderboards in NG+ Any% is without cheats, since you didn't use them). I like NG+ with cheats because of tricks that you can do with the Quantum Cannon, i.e., On Mission 10 you can use it to shoot through the wall that is only supposed to open after you meet Otto and get to the rocket. This saves a ton of time and skips two cutscenes. But the point is that I don't want the cheats runs to get mixed with the no cheats NG+ Any% runs, you know? But if you want to keep cheats and no cheats NG+ Any% runs mixed together, I guess that's fine, I would just prefer two different categories for cheats and no cheats. [Example below] -Any%

-NG+ Any%

-NG+ Any% (Cheats)

-All Challenges

-100%
