So I tried installing the preset5 dll ("Assembly-CSharp.dll") and after installation, it doesn't seem to do absolutely anything to the game, everything runs fine, no black screen like other people. It just doesn't speed up the game, it randomizes between 1-5 as normal, etc. I followed the tutorial, went to Granny/Managed/

I saw another file called, Assembly-CSharp-firstpass.dll, and I thought maybe it was some security thing so I tried deleting it but nothing happened that time either. Anyone know what's going on?

This video probably isn't new strats but it's some statistics and analysis of some strats on how to make ghost hacks more consistent and less brutal. I will also make a follow up video, currently talking with Zryu about methods to get 100% (it looks like he's testing this however, so I will let him post if he has been working on this a while which it seems like he has) This may have already been studied, but I figured it would be good to document this really tightly and keep it in a place where people can see it.

I am not yet going to purchase one or anything but I just wanted this information in the open since as I said above, I couldn't find anywhere here what is the best options in terms of hardware. I'll wait until I get serious enough (or if) to purchase all that and also korean version if I really get that far.

So the SSD will be purchased separately and replace the hard drive? And any SSD works or are there specific ones that are needed?

I was looking around the forums and I couldn't find anywhere that stated the fastest PS3 model for speedrunning on here (so apologies if it is plastered somewhere obvious), so what is the fastest PS3 model/s? I tried doing some research but most posts on other places had a budget in mind, so if possible, a theoretically best PS3 and an affordable, and fast enough PS3 would be very nice; the theoretically best might be expensive, I would assume?

As I said, I respect the moderators' decision. Overall, these types of decisions have gone over well in most communities, with exceptions being exceptions. With a smaller size community, I feel like you guys probably made the right decision.

As much as I'm excited for time save, we did have a poll where majority of us voted to split the leaderboards. I know it was a poll by oggy who isn't a moderator, so it probably wasn't in your consideration, but the community did vote. I remember in some communities the difficulties of having certain things like this, (especially ones like this where it's pretty shady) like the iQue from OOT speedrunning. Just wanted to point that out as an example, I respect your decisions as moderators to do whatever.

Sorry to spam videos but here are some cheesy strats for the crypts in episode 5. I still don't know how the dirt works (or if it's completely random), so this might be a strat that depends on RNG or close to RNG. Either way, this might still be useful. Also, I messed up crypt 3 pretty badly, but ideally you wouldn't have the statues break ever.

Even with the dirt ball damage, crypt 4 you won't get hit at all by dirt, so that one is nice.

This saves no time, but it also won't lose any time. So, it's just cheese strats to make it easy.

Good points. Yeah, I meant more like true 100%. While grinding for coins will be a hassle, there are also other things that I would say are appealing to the category so I still think it would be worth it. And yeah, it was a little forward thinking that we should just add it from nowhere. I'll probably run this in the future when I know any% and 100% fully and route it myself, idk if it will truly be an interesting run but we will see then.

So, the timing endpoint would be maybe first frame where you can see Mega Jump on the gadget screen?

California, USAOsuology6 years ago

I probably should have posted the supposed rules which would be something like: Timing starts from Sly taking out his binucucom (first white flash) and ends on the sound that plays for Mega Jump (first audible frame), and only when you have all gadgets.

Also I see all you 28 view lurkers đź‘€

I don't know if this has ever been actually discussed as a category yet, so sorry if this is a repost of some kind. I thought of this category and I thought it's a valid enough category considering there would have to be quite some change in route (and also a bit of time save with Time Rush). I know almost no one runs 100% anyway, so there wouldn't be any runs for quite a while. But we could at least add it now, couldn't we?

(Ps if we need any help with routing it, I'll help if I can.)

Thanks, everyone! I think I'll probably stick with what I have until it starts prohibiting me from getting a good time easily. Then I'll get the HDD version. Also, any conclusions on Eur vs USA or any other version?

California, USAOsuology6 years ago

I've been practicing and just submitted a run and I noticed there are no PS3 disc runs, is this because I'm misunderstanding how this works? I have the sly collection disc for PS3, so did I do it right by putting PS3 disc? If not, how can I tell whether it's HDD or SDD?

(so many questions but one more, is the PAL/Euro version faster? should I worry about it ever)
