hovers work differently when on higher fps, so anyone that couldn't hit high uncapped frame rates would be at a disadvantage. also we don't know what other frame rate dependent shenanigans we could open up like with Rehydrated. hovers are very consistent at 60 fps so there's no need to uncap.
When streaming/recording a run you must be able to capture the window to show what emulator is being used.
BizHawk is able to display the status bar below the game window. That must be displayed.
DuckStation will has specific requirements below. You are able to run without showing the window.
**You must also state what emulator is being used when submitting your run. **
Accepted Emulators:
- XEBRA
- BizHawk 2.8 or newer (Octoshock and Nymashock are allowed).
- mednafen
- DuckStation 0.1-4918-g82965f74 or newer
Accepted Emulator on Mac:
BizHawk Setup: Games can only run under the cue format.
- Config > Speed/Skip > Audio Throttle If you're using the Octoshock core
- PSX > Options
- Select either mednafen mode option
- Deinterlacing the image is allowed. Select Bob in the same window. To verify that you are running with Audio Throttle enabled you must hit the increase/decrease speed keys [plus/minus] it will display a message on screen.
DuckStation Dedicated Rules: You must be using the NoGUI version, that means a keybind for Quick Menu is required. These settings can be set in the Qt version of DuckStation. You must show settings of the core settings before/after the run. Your settings must match this: Interface Menu (NoGUI Setting)
- Pause On Menu: Disabled BIOS Settings

NOTE: All existing runs done on different emulators will be grandfathered in and will not be removed from the leaderboards.

I tried to run the game without glitches, and 1. it's hard to define what counts as a glitch in a game with this complex of a movement system, 2. your options are very limited as to what spats you can get, 3. it just was not an interesting run. it just felt like i was playing casually but just kinda quick. banning only 1 glitch for a category creates many unique workarounds, but you don't really get that sense when you ban them all.
if you mess up, let go of L+R and re hold them, then try again.
about like 6 buttons a second which isn't fast. make sure to be holding down L + R and try to not rush the code.
looks like you got lucky. tried to replicate it with no success. the more and more we fight this boss, the more we think it's rng, we just can't really prove it at the moment. Don't blame you for trying. maybe someday we'll find the magic manip, or just find the happiness object somewhere so we don't have to worry about it.
BTW welcome to ToS PSP land ^_^
