I like to find challenges within games to give me a quick speed fix. There's about a 6 minute segment in Castlevania II that requires almost flawless execution to get from point A to point B before a day/night transition happens and you are stuck for 3 real time minutes until the day cycle comes again. I've gotten it dialed in now to where I hit the transition with just a second or two to spare--- and I succeed about 60-70% of the time.

May not be exactly what you're talking about... but it's the way I warm up for a full run, every single time.

Go classic and hit up the original Castlevania! Challenging but fair... fun and iconic. Win win win.

Thank you for your response. I wasn't sure if SRC had blanket rules on this or whether it was game specific. Thank you for clarifying for me.

Hello, friends. I had something interesting happen to me last week and I thought I'd ask the question here. I believe I know the answer to the question ahead of time, but I thought I'd ask.

I was doing a run on a YouTube live stream last week and my internet connection became finicky. The VOD shows a 10 second gap where it reconnected. This was during a benign and simple part of the game (grinding for currency) on some easy enemies in an early part of the game. It is my understanding that it is not a submittable run if not every frame is accounted for, correct? I did not have the local recording going at the time, so I do not have a 100% complete video to upload.

In future runs, I will try to remember to record, but for this specific run, I just wanted the clarification and the validation that my assumptions are correct: that the run is not submittable.

Thanks for your time, and have a great day!

Hello all. Never been part of an active speedruning community before, but I've been running games fast since the 80s when I was a kid. My focus game right now is Castlevania II Simon's Quest... but I also love a bunch of other NES games. I'm here to learn and submit times as I reach milestones in my journey.

This is my boxed CIB copy of the game. :)
