Hi, can someone please set the base game for https://www.speedrun.com/shar_ex to The Simpsons: Hit & Run , thanks in advance :)

I guess it’s mainly because ASM’s more proper name would be “Any% No Mission Skips” and so we treat it as such, whereas 100% is just getting 100% completion as fast as possible

I would recommend joining the discord and asking in #help since the people who would know what the problem is probably don't check the sr.com forums very much https://discord.gg/0Yr4neTLlPveK8vr

I would imagine that you can bound your controller in Dolphin however you want

The route I followed was pretty much doing all the cards the game forces you to do anyway, then get any ones lying around that aren't too far out of the way

Derry, Northern IrelandNostalgia646 years ago

Yeah that's literally the only reason for the 60 card limit, if there was some way to get to the Fairground without that it would make the game 1000x shorter probably

Just don't have a PC that's horrific at multi-threaded work loads, like my laptop really struggles to run the game, OBS, livesplit and the load remover simultaneously

You can download the game from eBay.com for the low price of whatever the game is currently selling for

if this game works anything like the other gamecube games i've seen, then emu will be much faster than any console could ever be. USB loading the game would most likely severely improve your load times. The wii version should have about the same loads, if not faster as it essentially has a gamecube built into the console. NTSC also tends to have better loads then PAL

yeah, you get some small speed boosts off ramps (the most notable is the dirt ramp in level 2 and 5), and it also gives you a little extra jump height, meaning you can get on top of Moe's tavern by jumping on the chain fence next to it (used in 100%)

as long as your computer is capable of running the game at a reasonable FPS, recording and/or streaming the game, running livesplit and using the load remover component at the same time then all is good

This has come up so many times and the answer will still be the same: -the consoles aren't anywhere near different enough to warrant a whole new board (or even sub-category) for the console versions, the only actual, reasonable difference is the load times. If you care enough then just use the filters on the site already, it's what they're there for.

I've only ever heard of the tutorials not going away from one other person in the community and I don't remember if we found a way to disable them in that case, or even the reason why they didn't go away in the first place

Derry, Northern IrelandNostalgia646 years ago

Pretty self-explanatory; any changes you think should be made, post them here instead of letting them get lost in the discord

if you're just playing on the vanilla game then the fix is to download Lucas' Mod Launcher from the Donut Team website. You should also limit the game's framerate (but not on load screens and menus). For some people the game also can run better if you set simpsons.exe CPU affinity to only 1 of your CPU cores, rather than all of them.

it is a rule on SRL that you aren't allowed to be away for more than 1 hour, I'm fairly sure that was part of the reason the rule was added to the 602 rule sheet. But 30 hours is very doable, I think it's fairly safe to assume most people that sign up would want to do it one sitting anyway
