I don't really speedrun anymore, especially competitively, so I might not make a vote on the forms. Something that I thought about after reading this though, is why specifically look for input on the PS2 versions of these games? There might've been an earlier poll or form for ps5 that I missed, in which case sorry for being ignorant. If not though, I feel like it would be good to have a vote for all backwards compatible consoles, including ps5

I just wanted to throw something in here. "the number of people in this thread against it vs the number of people for it is actually in the against camps favour so no, I don't think it's a small minority at all. " Considering how many people are active in the community, and how many have actually commented on this thread besides the people who were initially against the ruling is kinda proof of how few runners care about this in the first place. Abandon posted this forum in the discord, and correct me if im wrong, but it doesn't seem like anybody joined in the conversation. If you think there are a ton of hypothetical people who are also against the ruling but haven't posted in the forums for whatever reason, then we can also consider all the hypothetical people who don't mind this rule and also haven't posted on the forums. Also all the comparisons people keep making from our leaderboards to other leaderboards doesn't mean anything, considering how different the kh series is and the fact that the communities you compare ours to, dont have categories on the ps4 in the first place.Which ps4 streaming is how this entire thing started in the first place.

The rule requiring a timer to be on video was added to the rules of KH categories a bit over 2 days ago. As far as abolishing it, retiming a video of your PB isn't much to ask for from a runner. It doesn't take much time to retime your run. Your speedrun and your submission is your responsibility.
The reason a lot of top times are in JP is because JP saves around 30 seconds over English. I personally don't think it's worth getting JP unless you're going for WR, if you have English I would recommend using that.
This is my opinion on SSD's. We have backwards compatible PS3 as a separate category on the leaderboards because those PS3's are too expensive and rare for most people to buy. The only difference in the SSD vs HDD situation is that SSD's are cheaper than a whole new console and easier to find. However, if we haven't involved money for being competitive, I don't think we should start now. I started speedrunning with a webcam pointed at my TV, you don't need to spend money on a capture card. PS3 fat vs PS3 super slim is a different situation than SSD vs HDD. SSD is something you add on to the console to make the loads faster. Super Slim is an entirely other console. SSD's aren't required for the PS4. Something else to point out, if we allow adding SSD to the console to make loads better, why don't we allow something like a turbo controller? Both involve paying money to gain an advantage. In my opinion SSD's shouldn't be allowed, i don't see how anyone could be mad if SSD was its own category under miscellaneous. I don't think removing WR's that don't have video proof is necessary. Even though video proof is required for runs now, i think we should keep those WR's as is. Especially because i assume most of them were done on stream.
I'm gonna keep this short and simple. In regards to requiring video proof for runs, i don't think allowing runs without video is a good idea. It's incredibly easy to record gameplay and if someone doesn't want to go through the trouble of recording it, then i don't think they're very interesting in speedrunning anyway
