Gonna survey this out a bit, for those who have tried speedrunning the game with different breeds, have you found there was any notable differences?

I always run with golden retrievers. I used to run with shibas. I got all my best runs with goldens and not shibas.

So yeah! I'm wondering if any of you had noticed differences. Or if you'd like to get on that :)

Things I'm wondering if they do a difference:

• Times for them to get used to you (avg number of pets, I found with goldens its around 4 if you manage to pet areas that generates blue flowers)
• Speed during the disc competition
• Disc catching capacities (How good are they at catching the thing)
• Speed during the lure competition
• Capacity to pick up speed in the lure competition (How easy is it for them to hit max speed)

I play rhythm games, mainly Taiko no Tatsujin. Otherwise, I draw and spend a stupid amount of time bothering my cats lol

I needed a new username at some point in my life. I decided to steal gamedev namco's name and add "nade" at the end, as in "lemonade"

I don't shill for Bamco, I just like some of their games

It always changes for me, but I would say Pokémon Crystal is the one that always stays in my top 5. Otherwise, Katamari Damacy, Sonic Mania, Taiko no Tatsujin or somethin' else depending on the day

Good job on yout first recorded speedrun! I retimed to 6:07 :) Happy to see a shiba run, I used to run these at first haha!

Some tips:

You don't need to wait for the dog to fully drink the water, only 2 sips is fine :) Have a timer on-screen, something like Livesplit! Taking breaks mid-speedrun (like during the petting sessions) makes you lose some time! Its also good to play two-handed to be able to turn around the camera during the petting phase

Also, that name calling phase where you just called him without exiting the name screen is a huge time saver! I didn't know this! You got a lot of potential friend!

This could be an interesting sub-category! I’d definetively be interested to do some run attempts :-)

1. There’s no discord server. We could always create one at some point to think about strategies :) As for the DS one, this is out of my personal reach, so I can’t answer for that
2. Timing starts when the Nintendogs + Cats logo fades out when you start the game at the kennel. Timind ends when the screen fades out of the white loading screen when you get home from the lure competition. If you’re unsure, you can always check the runs on the leaderboard :)
3. I’m not sure, its not included in the rules and I have no control over them as I’m just a runner, but I would say no to be 100% safe

I uploaded around 2 runs here, but I never really took the time to introduce myself, so I guess I'll do that!

I mainly speedrun Nintendogs + Cats (Golden Retriever & New Friends specifically) after looking up "Nintendogs speedrun" on a whim in a VC with a friend on a late night. I had been thinking about doing speedruns for a while, but it didn't click until I did those Nintendogs speedrun.

I plan on trying out various dog games/pet games speedruns (original Nintendogs, Dogz on GBA, etc...) and optimizing my Nintendogs + Cats run! There's a lot of improvement to be had!

Besides that, I like my cats, drawing, and I study in web development specializing in programming. And my favorite dog breed is the dalmatian :P
