The problem is UITIUA warpless would simply remove a layer of difficulty from warpless runs and it wouldn't allow any new strategies, basically just making it an easier warpless category
also iirc if u just started playing u have to wait to unlock all features
low 457 any%, possibly 456 if I ever git gud at fpg
"Beating the game" is defined as touching the 8-4 axe on first quest, so no
According to the rules, you can use FCEUX, Nestopia, Bizhawk, or OpenEMU.
This is a pretty good video explaining what you can do on most of the cheep patterns.
Both of these are found in "automatic timer" inside the Resources tab (this is a .lua file, which can then be accessed in FCEUX by going to File > Lua > New Lua Script Window and browsing for the "automatic timer" file). Note that the xpos component cannot be used in runs, which can be removed by changing the displayXpos value to false inside the .lua file.
don't worry if you don't get consistent on that jump right away; a lot of people use the safe strats for a while after starting out until they get used to the physics of this game
on that note, i don't believe anybody has mentioned this in this thread yet, but darbian made a great tutorial a couple years ago that's extremely helpful for learning this game (it's a bit outdated for some of the harder strats, but you probably won't have to worry about those until at least a sub 5).
I mean you should definitely play it at least a couple times over first, and maybe start with a goal of sub 7. It's really important to learn the physics of this game
No but WSplit is a lot easier to parse than other splitters such as Livesplit. As most runners do, you can always convert your splits to Wsplit using https://splits.io/ or a similar resource.
fast accel isn't currently considered a glitch (since the devs most likely intended for mario to accelerate faster when facing the opposite direction)
if you don’t enter the pipe to the coin cash as soon as possible, then yeah some 380s might lose the framerule
technically yes, but due to framerules (the concept that you can only lose/gain time in increments of 21 frames), it usually won’t lose any time at all
I heard from Kosmic and can confirm - all runners will be running small fire warpless.
I mean the a situation where optimally the level would end on the last frame of XX1 on the timer, and the last frame of the frame rule would be the first frame of XX0 on the timer. In that situation, you'd have to lose exactly one frame to complete it optimally, because losing 2 or more frames would push you off the framerule and not losing any frames would get you a firework which would take up 2 frames and push you off the framerule.
imagine if there was a level where you'd have to lose exactly one frame to get the optimal framerule
