I had this problem too, I'm new so someone else might be better at explaining it, but what you have to do is run straight through on the right side of the white zone, basically up against the doors is what I do and it works every time.

Haven't had that one happen but I do get the Gulag one pretty often. How do you avoid getting the Gulag softlock?
