Does the time for the run start the moment you actually enter lvl 1 or when you press start on the menu
I discovered this after making this video, but if you run with high speed onto the first stair, you can just run trough the portal. You can do pretty much any move onto the first stair, as long as you are at full speed you will clip trough the portal.
I think this is a much more consistent way to skip DDD
How about a 100% category where you would need to craft every item in the game ? I think something like that would make a speedrun of this game a lot more interesting.
I found a glitch where you can push slimes off of there platforms or even into walls. When you touch a slime, you push him a little bit away from the direction you came from and this it what I abused. To push him off from his platform to make him fall down below onto another platform or even spikes, you have to "get hit" from the slime when he is as far as possible on the edge of the platform, he will then fall off. Pushing a slime into a wall works pretty similar, he needs to be near the wall you want to push him in and then you just get hit by it. It's even possible to softlock the two slimes at the end section, if you push the upper one onto the platform below.
How about we make a community apfa speedrunning discord ?
Edit: The time of some runs could be inaccurate

right I (coincidentally) saw this too when I was just playing arround
I was running apfa and already stopped the run because I bonked into a block, but then a weird glitch happened and I just want to share this with you
I went trough this frame by frame and here is everything I noticed
I was standing on the high blocks left from the spikes for 3 frames, then I "slided" down from it, bonked into the blocks that were in the air, i fell straight down for 4 frames and then fell left for probably 4 frames maybe 5 ( I can't assign an animation with too much certainty), then went left for probably 11 maybe 12 frames, then released the left input.
Maybe the glitch happened, because I loaded another screen without holding left, but this is just a unlikely thought.
I decided to try out using the first version of the game, mainly to look if the A.I would be worse, but I felt like the A.I wasn't too bad, but I found a other important change. The War Goal Justification finished earlier. I will try to find some more exploits from the older versions and see if they could help in speedrunning.
To acces older versions of Hoi, go to the beta tab of the game on steam and choose the version.
Runs will need to have the historical ai Focus activated from now on, to avoid ending runs of the German Blitzkrieg 36 Start and maybe later coming categories quicker trough rng, but maybe there will be a His. ai off category for that. No current runs will be removed since Historical ai didn't effect them.
I'm retiming runs from now on by going frame by frame to look when the first ingame action was made and when the last "...has capitulated" message appeared
I was also thinking about making an autosplitter for Hoi but I currently don't know how to do this
I found a way to go out of bounds, at this point it isn't very useful since you can't escape, but I still wanted to share this with the speedrunning community since there could be a lot of improvement to make and use this as a escape method.
