The run is done in Time Trials, so you have Mushrooms to do the shortcuts. You must exit to the next time trial immediately after you finish the shortcut. This is only for the 48 non-DLC courses. Timing ends when you complete the final shortcut. Timing begins as usual: when you select "OK" on the first time trial.
100% doesn't have the extra VS and battle mode stuff
i mean you would just reset until you get 3 mushrooms 16 times and 2 mushrooms once (or 3 mushrooms 17 times) but like the chances are low of that happening
Also another idea is
Idle%
For this run you would do 48 tracks with both smart steering and auto acceleration on and you wouldn't move the left joystick at all. You can still rocket start, trick, and use items. The timing is exactly like a normal 48 track speedrun.
Rules: You do Time Trials but you have a random number generator generating a number for every race (1-3). The number that shows up is the amount of mushrooms you will use for that Time Trial alone. You will keep doing this until you have used 50 mushrooms (or more). Start Time: Start on the frame you select "OK" for the first Time Trial. End Time: End on the frame you cross the finish line of the time trial of which you used the 50th mushroom. More Information: -The random number generator can generate a number between each Time Trial. -You can only play a track once (OPTIMIZE THIS IF YOU WANT!!!) -I don't know if it matters that the generators are pseudo random because there are only 3 numbers here. -Random Number Generators: https://www.calculator.net/random-number-generator.html https://www.random.org/ http://www.randomnumbergenerator.com/

Also when all DLC comes out there could be a 96 track speedrun and a 96 random track speedrun where you do all the tracks. It would take a while but could make a pretty good category
Still, it could definitely become a real category, just with optimizations :)
If it became a run, 2 things should happen
- Make a list of tracks where it is possible to lap a computer. Post the list
- Ban GCN Baby Park
and @SSJona I think it ends when you lap the computer.
The Yoshi Bike is one of, if not, the fastest inside drift bike, but this game isn't MKW, so it is slower. You can still get decent run times, but Mr. Scooty and Biddybuggy are faster because of the way they play on the courses, and because their stats are better than the Yoshi Bike or any inside drift bikes.
Good idea, I'm doing runs now
Ideas: Idea #1: Loss% For this run your objective would be to complete a number of tracks in a row (each is a subcategory), but you finish 12th every race. You would try to do all the tracks as fast as possible. Idea #2: Lakitu% For this run you would race on one track. The objective would be to get saved by Lakitu once as fast as possible. Idea #3: All Items For this run you would try to use every item in the game (excl. Feather item) as fast as you can. The cc is not determined for any of the runs.
P.S. Maybe share some other run ideas or optimizations for these runs.

Another question: Does the timer start when you throw the shell or when you begin the race?
