Thats just how speedrunning goes. Glitches are in the game no matter what you do, but turning on godmode and max ammo is completely different.
Glitches can be experienced by anyone playing the game, but what you are talking about is changing things in the gamefiles before even playing. That is something completely different and I dont see what the fun is even in that.
But to answer: changing things in the gamefiles is not allowed in speedrunning (unless a seperate rule is in place for exceptions.) Glitches can be used during the non glitchless categories of speedrunning.
The developers didnt intend for glitches to be in the game just as they didnt intend people to turn on godmode during the game.
I dont know what you mean with "Ubisofts hidden feature" but that is not a feature, that is just changing things in the gamefiles, this can be done for a lot of games, nothing "feature", I think you might be seeing things incorrectly.

Hello,
I would like a page created for the second edition of the UCry marathon named: UCry Too Marathon
UCry Too Marathon (https://www.twitch.tv/ucrymarathon) - A marathon for speedruns of games either published by UbiSoft and/or running on a version of CryEngine. The idea is to bring together communities and games that otherwise have nothing else in common and have some good old fun.
The marathon will be an online marathon and will not have a charity involved.
The idea right now is to have the marathon take place Fri 7 Aug - Sun 9 Aug (if enough gets submitted then we might also add the thursday and/or monday, a long weekend)
Moderators:
lekolega (https://www.speedrun.com/user/lekolega) Chickenb0h (https://www.speedrun.com/user/Chickenb0h) and myself
Thanks in advance
Yes, tikevin83 had already pointed that out to me concerning my yellow submission. I'll have to redo all of the above and some more. The new categories won't be empty for too long. Thank you for making the categories.
Hi,
I have noticed that for the category extensions the red cover is just put upside down. I also noticed this in other Gens. There is an unused thumbnail that might look much better:
Pokemon Blue Cover
I have noticed that runners, who have done category extensions and the regular run in red and yellow, have 3 pictures in their src profile. And in my opinion it looks aesthetically less pleasing to have the regular yellow cover, the regular red cover and then the upside down red cover. The blue cover is unused and it would look much better if there were 3 different thumbnails:
pokemon yellow cover - yellow speedruns pokemon red cover - pokemon r/b speedruns pokemon blue cover - r/b/y extensions
The thumbnail for the regular red and blue speedruns is the red cover, and this makes sense because nidoking is obtained more easily in red compared to blue.
But for the category extensions I find the blue cover to be a better fit: Blastoise used to be the fastest, is the fastest starter and it is the fastest alt pokemon run on the category extensions.
Besides, people will understand that it is a different page than the red cover because the title Category Extensions is always clearly stated, so people wont get confused if you dont use an upside down picture.
The thing is that the upside down red cover looks like a lazy option and it lets the blue cover go unused while it would actually look and work better.
So my question is: good this simple change be made?
And if there are real objections to this I would also love to hear why??
PS: in other gens this could also be the case example: gold/silver
can a category be made for Arbok aswell?
I was just playing around and this run turned out successfull. I started with a lvl 6 ekans, but you can also catch lvl 8, 10 and 12. So if I had started with a level 12 ekans it would have been so much faster. Will work on improving it when the category is created.
Can one be made for Butterfree also ??? I just finished a "run" :
I just tested this at 4 in the morning drinking a beer, had to go to the bathroom like 5 or 6 times. So the run can be much, much better. When the category is made I will work towards improving it then.
I also did a Venusaur run so @PinkishPrincess isn't alone on that leaderboard :P
I didn't watch your run beforehand so I couldn't steal ideas.
PS: this is a fun run. Wigllytuff has a nice movepool and the run can be very much optimized. Like I was thinking maybe keeping teleport and teach it after getting the earthbadge and teleport out of the gym to viridian pokecenter and then teach blizzard or something like that.
Edit: teleporting in gyms does not work :P
Could a category be made for Wigglytuff also ?! I have a run:
Just for some reason my obs on my macbook doesnt let me record desktop audio, don't know why. But I am working on adding some music to this video and will reupload it after that. But for now: the category could be made, please.
Thanks a bunch man. Its small stuff like that that can take ages to figure out, at least i have that :P
well when I am on the marathon page and I go to schedule on the left, I wish to: edit schedule, but on this page I do not know how to fill in the particular options to make a schedule appear for others to see and use as a digital/updateable schedule for during the marathon.
Scheduled games GamePlayerRegion~Minutes
Because it says this ^ and then there is a blank space below with the option to save whatever you fill into the empty space. Well, my particular question is: what do I fill in exactly??? what if I do not wish to fill in region for example? stuff like that is my question. If you get what I mean
Thanks already
I am trying to create a schedule for a marathon on SRC but I am stuck at what to do. Can someone explain?
