"All Career Cups" added. Rules have been updated across all categories, though it appears I don't have proper access to clean up the general rules.

Updated the "All Golds TA" Category name and rules.

"Career Cups" added as a Leaderboard. Should be able to use the drop down menu to select your cup and submit. Let me know if it seems proper or if it needs tweaking. I went ahead and didn't record a test run of Coco Cup that was sub 17mins in-race to see what was easily doable, so I'm rooting for you!

As for Championship, I still have to give it a try, but "fast" seems randomized, so hard to track on a leaderboard.

From a list of points I gathered that needed addressing:

-"All Gold Time Trials" rules set before me, interpreted by me, are as follows:

"All Gold Medals in Time Attack. Time starts from beginning of first TA race and ends at Results screen of final TA race, confirming all Golds."

I see this setup as acceptable but flawed, and to further explain it: as you start the first race on "1" until the results screen of the last race. Confirming gold on each post-race screen. This is how Xeniok timed his 3-Piston run. I feel as though we need to standardized the start, as the end point is fine by my standards, the first frame of the last post-race results screen with your time clearly visible. I feel as though the start of the timer should be on the A press either in the menu or the pre-race splash screen. Starting the timer specifically on a consistent graphic like the "1" or "Let's Go!" might also work.

These can be subject to change if we can come to a better, logical setup. (I'm fresh off of work so my brain is a bit mush.)

-You've absolutely got me on what "Cup A" actually is, but I assume it's Career > Coco Cup and the categories never got finished. I'm unclear as to why, but I could add each of the cups in, named properly, if there was interest in running the Career cups as well.

-I've genuinely never touched Championship anything, whether fast nor custom, so I'm unable to properly comment on that. I can play some and get back to you soon. (Let's be real, that's a month from now.)

-Well duh, I'll add the cups and a full cup run board and you can populate it with a bunch of solid 1sts so I can come swoop them, like I did for this game and Coffin Dodgers' IL boards!!!~<3

Sorry, life got the better of me and have been super busy, but aside from the cliche sounding reply, I'll look into it now tonight and have a proper reply by Wednesday at the latest, as it's my next day off. <3

Niiiiice, I knew ragdolling would be faster, it's just so hard. XD

That sounds doable, I'll get back in-game and see what feels right and report back after. Give me a couple days.

I personally came on after everything was set up and mostly focus on IL runs in games, so I have very little info on the formatting here. That being said, I could do some tidying up after some review. To my knowledge with the little bit of META theorizing I'd done back then, the strawberry themed racer seemed to be the most obvious choice due to her speed based ultimate, but I'd wager there's probably a better defensive type racer for the cops like most other titles. As far as I know, all racers and kart stats are identical, but I may be misinformed.

I've been meaning to get back to the game myself as Chocobo GP has rekindled my need to speed. I like the ideas of the track names changing, makes sense to me, maybe even subtitled.

Fastest lap would be interesting, it's somewhat RNG based due to zombie spawns being random to my knowledge, so I'm unsure as to how it could get. I honestly don't remember what Quick Race is, but I think it's just pick a track and go against AI, I personally hate AI and am so glad I don't have to deal with them in Time Attack. The one full game run I tried was of this game and my recording crashed 18 minutes into the run, then my game crashed minutes after. Biggest sad.

Tutorial might be a laugh for misc., but we already have individual stages, you've posted there, no need for double posting.

Edit: Also, post more IL runs to get me to come back, please!!!~

I'm unsure as to the regions, but the names on it would suggest multi-region. I only ask due to in-game leaderboards usually being riddled with dishonest times. I've just recently been putting some time into Time Attack and wanted to see if it was worth pushing my top 10 times up further.

Is there a doc for IL time trial world record runs? Or is documenting them not worth it for some reason? I'm just now getting to the TT runs comsidering the game is gerting overhauled.

Great first post!!! It really fills me with a weird sense of joy to finally see some more activity in this game after I swept the open board. :D We've even got skips now that I need to hustle on and get runs with. I hope you keep at it enough to place on every level, and if not, have fun playing what you do!

Was marked as a 30.9, I fixed it to the shown time of 34.9.

California, USAJordanlol1 year ago

Not sure why you have it down as a 41.5 as the end timer is a 45.6. I fixed it and verified.

Surprised to see that chaining micro boosts on the red path worked as well as it did! I'm so glad someone else is exploring these after I just threw down dome basic times!!! Keep it up, my guy!

I'm genuinely super excited to see some OoB exploration in this game. I'm a lazy bum and was content with just sitting on decent enough lines to hold my placements.

Actual time is 12:28, not 11:08, do math.

My 4th on Primal Road in Dragon Kart isn't the best, but I'm not sure how they're shaving 3.8sec off of a pretty clear and cut line... https://i.imgur.com/wZpU1qR.png My best ideas are: due to the fact that you aren't boosting 100% of the time, it might be better to coast off of your boosts a bit more on straights, and perhaps ride the curb tighter... I've got to take 2nd before I can really complain, but I don't trust SEGA kart racer leaderboards anymore. :c

I just thought I'd share some info with anyone wanting to improve their times in the Dragon Kart mini-game from the corresponding side-quest.

(1. Absolutely wait until you've gotten to chapter 15 and beaten the last racer to acquire/fully upgrade the final kart, the "Rising Dragon Kart."

(2. Basics: To get a boost start, hold accel. about midway through the 2's animation of appearing then dissolving, so just about before it starts to dissolve. Collecting 10 rings brings your kart up to it's maximum top speed, so aim for a line that gets you 10 rings as soon as possible, or as easily as your skill level will allow, and then aim for as tight of a line as you can, ignoring extra rings. You want to be boosting as much as possible, that means touching boost pads/using boost items at the end of a boost or a combined boost. (More on that further down.)

Double boost pad bringing my kart up to a max speed of 90:

(4. Due to the way the drifting mechanic works in this mini-game, I would highly recommend making quick, sharp movements, changing only your timing and severity of your angle of approach. (When you choose to start your turn and how hard you turn.) Z-drifting is absolutely necessary on some turns and it is good to note that some turns may require multiple hops during a Z-drift and the like.

(5. {!!!Raised terrain is your enemy!!!} Do not, unless boosting and going along the line of, and not in need to turn against, drive on raised terrain. (You go slow.) You can hop to avoid the oil or slime (maybe sand) patches pretty easily without losing too much time. I recommend boosting over sand patches as much as humanly possible. (So far most lines I've encountered have boosts through sand.)

(6. Remember that not every lap is the same, so get used to some lines changing depending on how the track is laid out. (Veteran kart racers shouldn't have a problem with this. Looking at the ASRT crowd.)

This post may change over time as I discover more. (As of posting this, I've only "speedran" the first 5 tracks of the 12. Posted a 4th, 1st, 4th, 4th, and am working a 16th up.)

Current Playlist of my PBs, including (as of this post) a 1st on track 2:

California, USAJordanlol1 year ago

1st on the 2nd track, bumped my 5th up to a 4th on the 3rd track, and took a 4th on the 4th track. Looking at a standing of 4th, 1st, 4th, and 4th so far.
