Xbox 1 is as valid as well. A screen recording of a stream would be valid as long as the quality somewhat decent. For the timer you can use whatever you want as long as you don't pause it at any point (removing load screens is not allowed on console since it is either wildly inaccurate or takes way too long to do accurately and verifiably). A timer including milliseconds is preferred, since we retime each run thats submitted frame by frame. So if you start the timer a little off it doesn't matter. Submitting a youtube video is preferred over a twitch vod since youtube has a frame advance feature and is better in most ways.
Coversliding got patched very early on, you need one of the first game versions to use coverslides.

Whenever the fallout x in fallout y remakes will be finished we can discuss it I guess. Those projects are far from being finished it seems (if ever really), so it's pointless to talk about. Generally we decide what category stays on here if it's a good run and it's got popularity. If it's trash then we won't add it, if it's fun we might.
Idk if the original version was released on steam, but if it was then you might be able to download it with a steam depot. If all else fails you can try to look for an old torrent of the game, though I wouldnt do speedruns if you have a cracked .exe file if you cant find a legit one.
We try to not have any categories with only 1 runner as it is just an uncontested WR. Really cool idea, would love to see it though.
It sucks that you wont be making games of this quality, though I'm sure it's hard to create something as good as this, especially several times ;)
Runner LoLz2447 submitted a run that beats WR by a fair amount, however when his levels load there is no fade in meaning he can start moving a lot earlier. I've seen this one time before with another runner but haven't been able to find out how that's happening. I think that if there is no known way to find out how to make that happen, or to make it stop happening, it is unfair to rank these different runs together. I have no idea what to do here, but I've decided to not verify the run in respect of the many more other runners who doesn't have this advantage. Anyone that cares should say what they think should be done or else it stays rejected.

Been a while since last post, a few strats thats been found since then. Some of the strats havent been used yet, so how they work for you can vary. Saves a few seconds, used in Any%. Some times this can be used in the run if Tom is sleeping, be careful to not actually kill RR guys or something. Has been used in the run for a while, might be done a bit differently now, but if you wanna listen to asmr commentary this could be neat. Basically a new setup spot for the punchwarp, aswell as new clip spot. Personally I think the clip is a bit easier, but theres a bit higher chance to coc. Shouldnt be much more common than the old strat if you just spam jump while clipping. Saves like 5 seconds in Sex%, and should still save like 3 seconds in Any%. Take out fists when waiting for one of the doors, then the animation for grabbing the baton is skipped which saves like 0,5 seconds. Less moving mouse between Codsworth and Nora. Can save a tiny amount of time since you can start spamming on Nora a bit sooner. Can be used in Sex% to save like 0,5 seconds or something. Really stupid, but if you really wanna go this looks cool. Purely showoff strat. Unless youre a parkour god with too much time on your hands this one isnt worth it. The video was recorded at 25% speed and sped up, which is how this saves like 10 seconds. If you get really good at it you could go for it, but at the moment more of a segmented strat.
Ive been involved in the Fallout community for a while now. Have ran other Fallout games aswell. Havent seen you around though. I also talk with the other Fallout runners, which I guess makes my opinion more educated than yours. I also know more about this situation than you, but you dont want to understand that.
As Tomatoanus has stated several times, he has screenshots of conversations where Planet admits to whats mentioned above. For his privacys sake they wont be shared. You, nor anyone else can make an accurate opinion without actually viewing the proof. I assure you that the moderators and actual runners that have gone thoroughly through the proof has not just made a decision to get "ez WR". This isnt something that's been decided over the night, this took many days to decide, I know this for a fact. Just know that because you've read the vague description of something in a game we can only assume you know nothing about, doesnt mean that you can make an educated opinion and expect the people involved who knows their stuff to respect it. I dont want to discuss the topic with you or anyone, I just want you and the other triggered redditors to stop whining. Its no surprise that the people running Fallout games arent as pissed off, because we know a little more about the situation than you guys.

Since the downpatcher is not working anymore since the Creation Club updates, the current method of going from current patch to 1.1.30 is using the backup files. Drag and drop these in your game directory and replace the old files. It should also be covered in tomatoanus' Any% video tutorial series.

You can also completely download the old game using steam depots. This works the same as the backup files but you will have to download the entire game again instead of a few gigs.

Using the pipboy is allowed in all categories, like Kung said. If the rules arent clear enough just check the glitchless runs to see what they do and what they don't do.
I dont see how 2 misc categories can be a problem. If you don't want to run them, fine. Just because you don't want to spend time speedrunning Sex% doesn't mean other people shouldn't. If you want to find a better way to name the Any% versions, you're free to do so. If you really want to remove any categories you should try to contact the runners and see the general opinion on them, instead of complaining on the forums on a game you have never been involved in. I'm not gonna change anything, and I don't think anyone else will either.
