Hey I clicked on the Discord tab of this SRC page, and its not working anymore? Was the server deleted or? I know Ero deleted all his times from all the games he has ever ran and just left SRC. idk if that has something to do with it. If anyone could replace or make a new server I would much appreciate, because I love Lamm a lot. @troyofathens

After Ohrami originally compiled a PS2 Leaderboard, I decided to upload all of that information plus some more info into a Google Doc. Hopefully people find this useful! Future edits will hopefully include date of the run and version of the game. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DY7SVy20P6dsDAvIuGDTw4glCdIOM36T80RdUB3YMK4/edit?usp=sharing

With some Japanese players taking precedence over just beating their personal best versus submitting their times to a leaderboard, this has created a small discrepancy with the fastest time for some categories. Also, adding the JP Leaderboards into the equation further makes things a bit more complicated. With this post I hope to clear some confusion for anyone wondering what the truly fastest times for each category are. So maybe it could provide some motivation to beat them one day. Also, yes I'm aware some are super obvious like Any%. But I'm just doing this out of my appreciation for the game/community. So here we go!

Any% in 1:27:55 by Neurotaku (American) played with a NTSC PS3 on July 21st, 2017- (there does not exist a faster time anywhere)

Any% Hard in 1:44:21 by Notohanto (Japanese) played with a JP PS2 on June 4, 2017- (there does exist a faster time but it is on the JP Leaderboards by Japanese player Shirapon, and no video exists of the run. Played on a JP PS3 with a final time of 1:40:02) https://gyazo.com/998bd44f9305e1fc274abcbb3a8a5d52 SOURCE: http://wonder2005.wiki.fc2.com/wiki/%E3%83%8F%E3%83%BC%E3%83%89

Normal Time Attack in 37:21 by Shirapon played with an NTSC PS3 on November 14, 2016- (there does not exist a faster time anywhere)

Hard Time Attack in 51:22 by Notohanto played with a JP PS2 on April 14, 2017- (there does not exist a faster time anywhere)

Any% Queen's Sword in 1:29:46 by Notohanto played with a JP PS2 on October 27, 2017- (there does not exist a faster time anywhere)

Through all my research, I happened to find three world records without proof (just existing as a photo or a video showing the time and not the actual run) I want to post this for anyone who is crazy enough to possibly beat these and for accuracy purposes. They are as follows:

Normal Time Attack Valus in 14s 840ms by Japanese player Unidone. Region is JPN / NTSC on a PS3. Date of the Nico Nico video is July 8th, 2016. Time of upload 3 PM Japanese time. The description states that a time within the 13 second range is possible. Video showing the time: () NOTE: Due to this website's API not recognizing the Nico Nico player I just put parentheses around the video link. Just simply copy and paste it into your browser's address bar to watch it. It will take a bit to load unless you have a Nico Nico account however, so be weary. SOURCE (originates from the Japanese leaderboards): https://gyazo.com/a12e7c4eed5f63b50c85f3324aeb081a http://wonder2005.wiki.fc2.com/wiki/%E3%83%8E%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9E%E3%83%AB

Normal Time Attack Phaedra in 40s 340ms by Japanese player Unidone. Region is JPN / NTSC on a PS3. Date is unknown. SOURCE (originates from the Japanese leaderboards): https://gyazo.com/fde88eeb11273045723bce3850006aac http://wonder2005.wiki.fc2.com/wiki/%E3%83%8E%E3%83%BC%E3%83%9E%E3%83%AB

Normal Time Attack Basaran in 29s 010ms by Brazilian player Marcelo (speedrun.com account is Madorashi https://www.speedrun.com/user/Madorashi) Region is USA / NTSC on a PS2. Date is unknown. SOURCE (originates from this Youtube video where he performs the Basaran NTA World Record and at the end it shows his best time is better than the record)

Small note, apparently Marcelo performed a time slightly faster than the current Phalanx NTA record but was done on a friend's PS3 without having access to a cell phone for taking a picture. He doesn't remember the exact time but just another small incentive to go for. Date is unknown.

Hey was looking through this guy's channel and he has a no damage run of Claire A with a faster IGT than Carcinogen. Surprisingly he seems to have the animations in the video! Nothing is cut out from what I could observe. I would like a moderator/s to scrutinize the video and see if it's a legitimate run. The video below is the run I edited together from the source videos, also corrected some video overlap between the videos which existed.

(NOTE: after mod review the run was turned out to be spliced, unfortunate but I removed the video to not spread misinformation, if you desire the link I can PM you on Discord. Otherwise it's private)

Thanks in advance.

P.S. If anyone could discern which platform he's playing on that would also be great because he doesn't state it. Was able to skip cut-scenes though.

P.S.S. Here are the original source videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA37385A4437A2E82

Hey I noticed when looking through this old runner's videos that he has a faster IGT than the current record holder Albirex for the category mentioned. He also used 0 saves and there's no significant footage missing between each of the 7 videos from what I could see. Could be wrong though. I downloaded his original videos, put them all onto the same timeline in Premiere, then exported the final product to Youtube. Now the only discrepancy is the fact that a PS Driver isn't shown and we technically don't know if he played on a PS2 or PS1. But I can tell you for certain the runner lucianoRX ran a variety of games for SDA back in the day and always played his PS1 games on the PS2 for obvious reasons. Also, I saw Albirex's run and he didn't show his Driver number at the end. Does the rule not apply then? Anyway I hope the mods can settle this and see if Luciano's run is truly legitimate. Sources for what I mentioned will be down below.

The Complete Run: (NOTE: at the end of this thread the run was confirmed to be spliced, so I took down the video. If anyone needs access to the link for the future I can PM it through Discord, but for now it will be unavailable)

The Original Playlist Which Contains The Source Videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3FDA0C2BB84855EC

P.S. If this run is deemed not legitimate I will take it down/delete it for obvious reasons. And not to spread misinformation. Also, if I seem ignorant I don't really run RE2. I just have been editing together Luciano's relevant runs so they can be viewed by a modern audience more easily. He really is a talented player. The only other discrepancy I could notice is the absence of door animations. But this was something he did for a couple of his videos due to length restrictions on Youtube for the time period.

Hey just had a question about the rules for Boss Rush (btw TonesBalones thank you for adding the category!! I really appreciate it man) -Time starts when you enter the first boss from the CQ-80. This replaces? -Time starts when you enter the Octo Expansion If so I can kind of understand why because it makes things a bit more convenient for the runner. If so I can convert my final time to the new timing method for consistency's sake. Will start my timer at the new spot for the future if this is the case. Thanks again!!

Michigan, USAHydrus5 years ago

Reading some of the threads have been a mess considering you guys only just now have consistent rules/separated leader-boards. (in my opinion with the difference between NTSC and PAL on console they should be separated or only NTSC should be allowed just like how RE2 does it, I agree with Carci in that regard) Anyway here are some questions I had.

-For a run on console is the RTA time counted or the IGT for being ranked on the leaderboard? I just see submitted runs with both being the IGT. What's the tldr on that reasoning?

-How does the IGT work for PC/Console/PSP? A more specific question would be when does it stop?

-Would I need to buy a 90K PS2, use Fast Disk Speed, and play on the NTSC version of the game to have the fastest setup possible?

I was just curious. Have a nice day! ^^

After reading the debate about this very run I'm not asking it to be submitted. ^^ Just thought I would share it with your community and make it more watchable for everyone. Enjoy!

P.S. Regardless I think this time can definitely be beaten.

Hey for anyone that was interested I made a comparison video between Ekudeht and lucianoRX's runs. Hopefully it can maybe be of use to any potential runners of New Game Normal. ^^

Hi there, I found out about Luciano's record from this Reddit post. https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/8nopil/longeststanding_untied_world_records/

I then tried to watch it and realized it was in 13 separate videos. (yes I understand the limitations of the platform at the time but trying to watch it today is just inconvenient as heck) So I decided to download his entire playlist, put it into Adobe Premiere, and edit it together into one complete run. This includes no video overlap, linking each video together by the frame to create the smoothest watching experience possible. I can tell the moderators personally there is no cut parts and the video is what the record was originally supposed to look like. So in honor of Luciano and making his run watchable forever I ask one of the mods to submit my video for first place. Here's the link.

Really enjoyed working on this for your community and I was also able to download Zeno's segmented run with help from EZScape and that is also on Youtube! But it is currently unlisted because I want to include more info in the description about the run itself/Zeno. So that will come very soon. Hope you consider my offer and have a great day! :)

Due to the nature of how Octo Expansion Any% currently operates and the level skip mechanic I would suggest renaming Any% to Any% No Death Abuse or Any% No Level Skips. Whichever sounds/looks better to the mods. Then if you were to implement the Any% category which allows skipping levels just simply call it Any%. Just to help differentiate both a bit better. (obviously Any% would be a miscellaneous category due to its absurd nature and barely anyone would run it in the first place, thus relegating its presence on the leaderboard) The rules for Any% would be:

-Octo Expansion -Time starts when you press "Yeah" after creating your Octoling -Collect all the Thangs in any order -Dying repeatedly within a level in order to skip it completely is allowed -Time ends when you press Yes-skip this phase. (ie dying on the final boss, pressing the X button, and going down to select the Yes-skip this phase. option)

Hope this explains what I was thinking about! If the moderators or anyone else have any questions/criticism just reply to this thread.

With Octo Expansion's success as a speed-game I thought I would introduce a shorter, fun category to the community. This would be called OE Boss Rush and the premise is just that. Beating all 5 available bosses (Octo Oven, Octo Samurai, Octostomp, Octo Shower, second Agent 3 fight) as fast as possible. The rules would be as follows:

-Octo Expansion -Start from a completed save file (plus all 80 levels beaten at least once) -Time starts upon entering the Octo Expansion (whether it be through the tunnel in the Square or selecting the Deep Sea Metro option in the menu) -The 4 selectable bosses (Octo Oven, Octo Stomp, Octo Samurai, Octo Shower) you can complete in any order but Inner Agent 3 must be completed last -Time ends when the "Inner Agent 3 defeated" text appears on screen

I hope the moderators read over my proposal and possibly consider adding it! If you guys have any form of criticism let me know.

Hi there. I'm fairly new to speedrunning (only been running my main games since March 2018) and watched EZScape's video about the longest standing world records in speedrunning recently. Number 1 brought me to this forum. Now I just wanted to watch both records purely out of curiosity and seeing how many mistakes this Tim guy makes. I also heard this particular game is kind of a bad speed-game leading to its unpopularity. The Nightmare 100% run is easily viewable on Youtube. But the Easy 100% run leads to me an old website with an outdated file format as the source of the video. I'm kind of a noob to properly downloading/converting these old files to something watchable like in an MP4 Format. So if anyone can give me some pointers I would really appreciate it! It also might be better if this old run is truly preserved in a watchable manner. If no one else is willing to do this I will gladly do it myself and release it with full credit on my Youtube channel! Thanks for any help guys. =)
