I've accidentally did South Island with Sonic with High Damage (yes, I'm playing on GameCube), which made it easier. Normally, Low Damage (dunno the name on the 2012 remaster) is the default setting. Since High Damage makes it easier, makes sense if there was an easy% for the individual levels and full levels.
