Interesting find o/. Too bad i don't think there's any use of it anywhere ? If i'm remember well there's only one vertical fan in the game though i don't remember in which level since i went here only once.

I guess this new category will need to be clear about what is allowed or not. To me i had in mind (cf. my message above) that anything in the gameplay designed by the devs would be allowed and all the other stuff prohibited. So any projection like the elevator skip or the wall flip/skip/fling wouldn't be allowed, as long as almost everything.

It's already been discussed in others threads but afaik i don't think anything has been stated clearly yet. I saw in the run of Azaraki (ng+ glitchless atm in 15:28) some dashjumps and he was considering it'd be okay as "pure" run. He's one of the runners who wanted this category so feel free to tell us what you'd like to be able to do in this kind of run :p.

"True glitchless" ? Or maybe "Intended" (but it sounds strange as a category name). Something to say that's the run is done as the devs designed the game, without glitchs / tricks they didn't think about.

But anyway as stated in another thread, i guess it's a good idea. Some players seem to want to run the game in this category.

Btw atm Glitchless allow way more than just Curveboost & Superjump (dashjump, cornerboost (similar to curveboost), wall fling/flip, and now elevator skip o/, and more maybe later) but that's not a problem since only the forbidden glitchs / tricks are listed in the rules (Edit : Well permitted stuff are also indicated, so they may be incomplete).

Thank you for sharing it. It seems to work a little like the wall flip ? I mean our character is pushed with a platform going in our direction, hitting us from below. And the rocket jump allow us to take some distance from the elevator before being hit & the dash adding some vertical velocity.

Hi,

Grayfooxx did a tutorial video in french some days ago, quite complete, but if you've some stuff to add (or if you want to do another tutorial), feel free to do so i guess ;). Fr : Grayfooxx a fait un tutoriel vidéo en français il y a quelques jours, assez complet. Mais si tu as des infos à ajouter (ou si tu veux faire un autre tutoriel), n'hésite pas ;).

Edit : Btw, just saw you've the WR, GG o/. So i'm sure you'll have some stuff to show and explain.

Here is his tutorial (length : 1h40) :

Awesome indeed, well found. I wonder if there's something to do with it to bypass some stuff without having to use a wallclip. I've the floor 3 of the level 5 in mind obviously.

Hi,

As i like to share any strat discovered somewhere, apparently on a chat of a runner of a speedrun event undergoing, someone (Borkva) shared an alternative to the dash-superjump in lvl 3. The dash-superjump will still be faster, but this curveboost may be easier to place in a run / race. Here is the video (curveboost starts at 00:20) : *I did try some alternatives of this jump a while back including this curveboost but i never did what we see in the video. I guess i didn't try enough. Also in the second part we see an already known cornerboost Sigma found in lvl 3.

[i]As i did for the tricks / glitchs, i may do another guide to list all the backups that are not that obvious if wanted (ie. i'll not list the normal way as a backup since it supposed to be obvious and known by anyone).*

If you want to run a category like that i don't see why we'd stop you. I perfectly understand your intent. We'll have to find a name for it. I'm not sure we can define dash jumps / superjumps as "glitchs". I don't even know the concrete definition of a glitch, if it's something not intended by the devs simply or if it's more complicated than that.

Personally, if there's a new category i'd like, it'd be a "no almost frame perfect %". So everything would be accepted except almost frame perfect jumps ((dash)superjumps / megajumps). All the boosts (curve/corner), dash jump, wall fling and wall clip would be accepted.

Hi,

So first time i saw something similar was on a stream of MysteriousPlatypu, but i didn't find the VOD and i think he didn't have the time to search for it in his local records yet.

Apparently, we can go even higher than usually and also skip the crushers. ZIgouigoui_CV did it and here is the video : Now the fun starts with trying to find a setup for it o/.

Edit : Another video from Rabram (using the dash here, go to 2:20 to see it fully succeed) :

thread: DeadCore
Lorraine, FranceHarest8 years ago

More dash-superjumps hype http://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/emoticons/v1/25/1.0. The only one i've the feeling i succeed it very often is the one for the gen #2. About the last gen in the video, cf. Sigma stream, no need to go all the way up with a blast-curveboost, a good curveboost is enough to load & power the gen.

Nice find though o/.

thread: DeadCore
Lorraine, FranceHarest8 years ago

Interesting o/. I tried a little without much success, until at the end, i did a little test and i succeed to activate the gen you consider the first one, from the top of the horizontal jumpad at the gen 3 (where you come from in ng glitchless), here is a video. I don't know if a gen loaded stay loaded forever ? I'll try to the normal ng route to see if i can redo it.

Also, as i'm playing in very low. You can easily see when the textures will (de)pop. And when you aim precisely, the textures will automatically pop, but i don't know if they have a physical existence or not, it seems so. The generators can be see from pretty far away too but targeting them generally do nothing, so that's why i'm surprised about by random try at the end of my first tests.

 • For gen 3, i think we don't need to cross the gravity field with spinning lasers, we probably can activate it from the platform right before, maybe with a rocket jump then blasting or something. I was able to activate the 2 blocks which let us target the gen behind.
 • Gen 2 : The loading limit for the gen seems to be on the last gravity platform, that's where textures (de)popped at the top. Edit : Well, it seems generators are coded differently than textures. You really need to get in a somehow small range. Here's another exemple. Despite textures load way before, i wasn't able to power the gen before i was close enough to load it first. Atm, one way i see this useful is if by any mean you fail to activate the gen near the end, you can probably activate it from very far away, without having to do the route again (Edit² : Yes, we can). But yeah now we need to know when we can quick respawn, and we can't know that with the textures unfortunately.

Interesting, thanks for the answers.

I just did some tests about superjumps with AutoHotKey. Apparently, on an unactivated jumpad, if you jump before activate it, you'll never get a superjump. But even if you click then jump, the superjump isn't 100% guaranteed. I don't know how the accuracy of AutoHotKey is anyway. I used this little script (i inverted the keys to test both) :
XButton1:: Send {LButton}{Space} return
Btw, i assume all this kind of stuff (macros, etc.) is prohibited right ? Though if it's really the case and a same situation will never secure a superjump for instance, i'd like to know your opinion about that.

Also, since i got a boost in lvl 3 i didn't expect, i just did it again, here is a video. I had the refill+ from level 4 so i don't know if it's usable, probably not :(. I wanted to see if i could do something similar as an alternative of the super dash jump at the end of level 3 but the last part of the platform is not vertical enough, it blocks you. I've also tried the new skip Sigma found with the corner boost in lvl 3, i did it 2 times but it seems quite hard to do consistently (and again i had the refill+), but here is a video too (missed the dash jump so the "backup" is shown too). Maybe should i put this stuff in a new thread for skips & related ? I didn't want to without some tests in proper ng glitchless conditions.

Hi,

Just some questions to those who have played quite some time to this game now :

 • Is there some tricks in the game that are framerate dependent and if you have low fps, you may have more difficulties to do it that if you had way more fps ? I saw that in a stream chat. And if anyone has more details, that would be nice.
 • Does a charged blast jump makes you jump higher than a not charged at all one ? I don't think so but i couldn't give a sure response to this question.

Also, cf. the title of this thread, feel free to ask any question here too.

Hi there,

I've also a suggestion about guides : The author is always the author or one of the authors. Maybe doing it like that : one author and contributors. With like Californ1a said : an option to allow anyone to be a contributor, or just mods. I created one for Deadcore. And when a mod did some updates, i lost my rights as he became the author.

In case you missed it, i'm not a runner at all, i'm just enjoying the game enough to try some times on each level, and at least my first objective is to beat each dev time which seems easy enough to me. There's many videos out there to see some skips i didn't think of, etc.

And yes i totally agree with your statements. Megajump is probably frustrating for many runners so the new category is welcome. It's probably more fun to run and to watch. As i'm not a runner i'm enjoying this glitch too much and indeed i've more consistency with disabling the jumpad right before the jump. Maybe should i try on 100 / 200 jumps to get more retaliate stats but i tried for a long time yesterday and i think it was really the case, just like you seem to get them easier when they're already disabled. I put it in the guide as a note, in case some will find it easier too. Maybe should i put a "no guarantee" to not mislead anyone. You've a lot more hours on this game than me.

Demo & explanation for the Wall fling are welcome indeed. And i'll update the guide about Dashboost / DashJump then. Btw, why "fling and not "flying" ? Edit : Well, you were faster o/. And it seems like i can't modify anything now, damn ^^. I'll send a suggestion to the dev of this site for that. Edit @Tewi (Below) : Not much to add/edit so that's not a big deal, the guide is already good like that ;).

I've watched your tutorial when i've posted the message above, but i'm not sure about all these tricks you listed. When i said a list could be interesting, i meant a list with at least some info on how to do it and the result of it (in a seperate thread maybe). At least i could note the times in your tutorial where you speak about the various tricks. But right now, i'm not sure what you mean with dashboost, curveboost and Wall Fling (with the ¤ not explained). About Dash/Curveboost isn't the same thing than the dashjump ? On a curved object, you still do a "dashjump". I may need to watch the tutorial again, but Twitch VODs are awful ^^.

Thanks btw.

Edit : I just did a little guide sketch, feel free to complete it if you've some time (i hope at least mods can edit it, users would be even better). I used the video tutorial of Tewi_TV. The guide is missing stuff about Wallclip, wall fling (it's explained at a moment but i don't understand what it is), dashjump as i don't know if it's equal to dashboost, i guess so. Not much about the blast abuse too but that's not a big issue since it's been patched a while ago.

Edit² : I don't know if it's just me but i do megajumps more consistenly when i disable the jumpad right before i jump on it. Maybe we've more frames to do it ?

thread: DeadCore
Lorraine, FranceHarest8 years ago

Maybe a little offtopic, but could you do a list of current tricks which still working in the current version of the game ? And it'd be interesting too to know and be able to see the old ones they removed with patch 1 & 2. I personally got the game recently in the Humble Bundle and i noticed some inconsistency in my jumps with the jumpads, now i know why :p. Not sure i'll ever speedrun this game¤, but it'd be nice to have these info.

About the categories, it seems there's not many people in the leaderboards (all using the Steam ones ?)... So maybe it's not so useful to care about that for now. If wanted you still can create another category without all these jump tricks ? Glitchless category is generally useful when a trick breaks the game massively, like the megajump seems to.

Edit : Btw, i don't know if it's a known trick despite it seems quite hard to do : By dashing into the edge of a block, i was boosted like the "dash jump" on curved surface.

¤Or any game btw, i like to find glitchs & stuff, but running a game seems too stressful / exhausting, i'd want to reset constantly. I tried on Love+ and after 2h30 of learning the game and training i stopped.
