you can still do a run without doing the glitches and get a decent time
so here's the method for downpatching, sry i dont have a vid tutorial, but someone has a vid an it's exactly what i did to make it work. an as far as i know, you WILL Need to uninstall Re4 otherwise sidequest wont install it properly And you WILL Need to back up your Save file, by plugging your quest 2 into the pc, clicking allow on your quest 2 for files to be accessed on your pc. then going into (android/data/com.armature.vr4/files/savegame.sav) <- just the save file is all you need.
what ever you do dont copy over 'VulkanProgramBinaryCache' otherwise your re4 will run at 10fps

unfortunately quest 2 recordings can only reach a max file size of 3.80gb's before corrupting if not stopped before that limit. not really sure what that equals upto time wise, but without altering recording settings such as resolution and bitrate, which will increase file size quicker. (30/60+fps setting is okay to change) you can easily fit a full run in and stop/save the recording
yes, you are allowed to set up your inventory anyway you want and use which ever weapons/items you want for ng+
i haven't checked myself but i've heard people have gotten to that section from the castle area.
few issues still remain when it comes to out of bounds tho, #1 being even if you do clip through the gate, i cant see being able to get back through as it requires a key to open it from the intended side, thus leaving you trapped in that part of the village as far as i know. unless another oob is found in moreau's section. #2 as mentioned you can get there from the castle and grab the flask in moreau section, but in doin so you wont be able to get the flask from the castle. as that place becomes inaccessible once you leave.
certain things in the castle dont work out of order either. like the statue head in the elevator where lady d cuts your hand off. you can collect it but the elevator wont move. you can interact with the casket but cannot pick up the knife to imitate the lady D fight. an shown below in a lazy way using cheat engine, you cant leave the room even if pick up the flask.
there's also an easy oob in the factory, but sadly you cannot trigger the cutscene with chris until you fight the Sturm (the armless spinning blade boss). And you cant hit the checkpoint behind the locked door on B1 whilst oob to go to that fight, until you backtrack to B3 to turn the mold into the heisenberg key. an the level itself is Way too vertical with very little collision to interact with to elevate yourself or Blast fall yourself down to
it's lookin like this game works Exactly like re7, when it comes to sequence breaking. if not worse. still really early days to tell tho.
^another thing to add onto this. more often than not the Ai can 'bug' out with Lycans body blocking each other so they cant get to hitting the shelf. as long as the one trying to get past the other isn't running, which then helps eventually get through. this was done on standard. it's harder for this to occur on VoS difficulty
(sorry for the shitty quality) using pipe bombs, we are able to exploit ethan's fall animation to squeeze past collisions to out of bounds.
So far, i've been able to do this 2 ways in the same spot. one being way less consistent than the other since it involves being shot across down the stairs by the explosion and pass the barrels near the crawl space where you see dimitrescu.
an this way seems a bit more consistent, but still tough to pull off as im Not 110% sure of the line up.
hopefully this will be viable in the full game, in other areas an such.
this was done on standard, an a trainer was used for infinite health & ammo. but you can tank about 4 explosions so it's not 𝘵𝘰𝘰 risky.
another skip for the run. bit finicky walkin along those edges, an not a big loss not getting it first try. worth
another small time save i've noticed, is when forced to take pictures if you press A & X (ps3: Square & X) you can start moving again right away rather than waiting for the picture to upload to Rosa first. but you wont have control over your player camera for a few seconds.
the first boss glitch loses no time. it can either 'break even' or save a second or two depending on which side the zombie is placed during the fight, an you get the first shot off within the first few frames if the zombie is on the left side. tho this is based on Rng is it necessary currently ? no.
the boss glitch in the boiler room with leon still saves time and is more of a safer strat than doing it the proper way (which requires switching from the gas to rifle during the fight, hitting all shots accurately everytime the bar hits the middle, more than likely run out of ammo, otherwise having to switch Again; to the handgun if you dont)
since it sounds like you're basing this mostly off what i do in my run and then yours on the last one written part, you should mention that praying on another random zombie to spawn for a glitch is Pure RNG. where as the particular way i setup, eliminates that. an just uses the zombie that's already there, to pull off the glitch. it would also be Really worth mentioning That last boss skip in particular has only a 50% success rate because it Can hardlock your game an kill the run. that's a good meme (:

idk how a strat that saves time overall became a debate about consistency. if you fill the canister without being bothered by a runner. cool. if not, an have to shoot one losing a few seconds. cool. if you're Really struggling with it, pick up the stun bomb before climbing down the elevator an use it. either way your saving time ¯_(ツ)_/¯

it does glitch out the game tho, because you cant interact with the fuel tank unless you restart the encounter. when you do, the game thinks you've killed the infected. an as i mentioned the game trips out when you get hit doing either fuel or garage door interaction cus the infected are suppose to be dead

have to goto the dome first before courthouse for the gas glitch.
in the dome there's a RE after the cutscene with the canister, which moves the trolly half way to where it needs to go. Note that i pick up the ammo and bottle after the restart. because picking them up before hand doesn't save them in your inventory. cant remember if its a known thing for Tlou or recent issue with the game.
afterwards, make your way to the courthouse. goto the garage. you must restart encounter for the glitch to work. then make your way over to the fuel tank.
You Can get hit out of the filling cutscene, which at that point you can move around. But you'll enter a state in which you cant aim, dodge, attack, pickup etc. only jump over stuff, until the cutscene is done an your backpack is on your back again. i dont really recommend getting hit.
one Down side to this, Dont get hit while pulling the chain to open the garage door. your game Will crash lol
this was done on Very light difficulty, an it's free as long as you Hug the right wall all the way to the van you jump over to get to the fuel tank
not sure if this trick is known, but normally he walks in, chokes you, throws you over the counter etc... not anymore
potential skip? if anyone can find a way to load in the next section.
the carlos defense section is timed based. the breaker/lights will always go out around 2mins whether you kill zombies or bait them around an electrocute them for the duration. the 2nd hunter will jump through the window at 4mins. afterwards if you kill all zombies quick enough as they are coming through the windows you can end the sequence as low as 4:35. the only things that are actually mandatory is not letting the zombies break into the room jill is in & emptying the room to place the detonator on the pillar. also accessing the inventory or picking up the pouch or detonator during the sequence will pause the event timer. tested on hardcore.
